Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tori Porter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Tori thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear you experience with and lessons learned from recruiting and team building.
Building a team can be a challenging process, particularly when it comes to managing turnover and retention. Given that my business models all rely on the same resources, it’s crucial that I build a strong team. Initially, it was just me, and finding the right partners was a constant struggle. Dealing with untrustworthy business partners made things even more difficult, but once I found the right partner who could assist me and help with delegation, things started to improve.
Once I had the right partner in place, the next step was to set up my C-suite partners (COO, CEO, CFO, CTO, etc.). Selecting the right C-level associates allowed me to choose the proper E-level associates, making it easier to delegate tasks and manage the team effectively. When it came to hiring, I made sure to have a C-level associate whose strengths were in influence and resourcefulness, ensuring that we could attract quality candidates who believed in our company objectives. Additionally, I made sure that I could outsource this task to my C-level associate.
Training was a similar process, with a focus on ensuring that the KT (knowledge transfer) and SOPs (standard operating procedures) were vertically scalable and duplicatable across different teams. Looking back, I would remind myself that I don’t have to handle everything on my own, and that understanding the value of macro-managing versus micromanaging is crucial.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Tori Porter, and I am an Unconventional Real Estate Investor. I specialize in teaching peers how to generate income without spending a single penny of their own money, which I refer to as “Mediation Financing.” Unlike wholesaling, my program teaches individuals how to locate properties with equity post-rehab and then borrow funds from everyday people, turning them into investors. They can then rehab the properties, refinance them in their own name, and gain a significant ROI, while the property owners also receive income.
If you’re interested in learning more about this program, please visit our website at https://www.breadandbutter.academy and click on the “About B&B” section. Additionally, I offer two other products: a PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) – https://www.Validifi.io and an SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) – https://www.fintology.io.
The SaaS product is a consumer verification tool that safeguards businesses from various forms of fraud, including workplace, medical, finance, identity, banking, and chargeback fraud. It is an AI-powered solution that not only determines leading products beyond just a consumer score but also delivers insurance and tax strategies to help gain additional capital. I heavily use these products within my real estate portfolio of 32 single-family homes and also in my educational program.
I got my start in the industry after selling my ecommerce store through flippa.com for $1.2M, which allowed me to enter the real estate market and develop these innovative ideas. This approach enabled me to solve a range of problems and implement a “Blue Ocean Strategy” that has little to no competition. My experience in ecommerce allowed me to apply the same systems and solutions to my real estate education program and my portfolio, which has propelled my success as a young investor.
Finally, I have had great success with my proprietary software products and half equity partner, which has enabled me to expand my connections and grow my business rapidly.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
As an entrepreneur, I understand how important it is to grasp how businesses, companies, and corporations operate, as well as the art of outsourcing and micromanaging effectively. These are key skills that have helped me take my business to the next level and achieve success.
Outsourcing is a critical tool that I utilize to delegate tasks to experts who possess the necessary expertise and resources to get the job done. By doing so, it frees up my time and energy to focus on other critical aspects of the business, such as growth strategies and expansion plans. Outsourcing has also helped me save money in the long run by avoiding the costs associated with hiring and training new employees.
In addition to outsourcing, automations and AI have been significant game changers when it comes to running my business. Automations have helped me streamline my operations and improve efficiency, while AI has given me valuable insights into customer behavior and preferences, which are vital for growth.
However, I do not rely entirely on outsourcing and automation, as human touch and personalization are equally essential. As an entrepreneur, I strike a balance between using technology to streamline operations and maintaining a personal touch with my customers and employees. I find that effective micromanagement is also critical in ensuring that tasks are completed correctly, and everyone works together towards our common goals.
To become a successful entrepreneur, I believe that one must be willing to learn and adapt to the changes in the market and industry. By mastering outsourcing, automation, and micromanagement skills, entrepreneurs can take their businesses to new heights and achieve long-term success.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Reaching out to peers within my circle allowed me to leverage their social networks to ensure mines were stronger. It is important to know that leveraging your resources within your internal network is very important and can allow fast success within running your business or brand. Pride can be the number one form of destruction when it comes to understanding the resources you may have never be fearful too ask the work response you can get is “no”.
