We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Toré Kelley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Toré, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?

In this Industry most believe that pleasure and toys are one sided. I believe differently, having these additives just like seasonings brings a different flavor, a new spice to your life. Being able to explore different things about yourself, your partners and the bodies that you’ve grown to love. There is no such as a “competition” everything is here to assist you and your partner reach your ultimate goal

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Good vibes and Orgasms! My name is Toré Kelley, I am from Miami, FL. I started A Goddess Touch out of the idea of needing something different. As I was talking to my sisters and cousin this idea came to me and we all said perfect! It’s perfect because I’ve always been into my body and it’s needs also because I was recently divorced and keeping myself self occupied. As I did my research on where and how to start I read many stories from women who have never experienced true satisfaction from their partners or men who didn’t know they too had a g spot. It opened my eyes to a conversation that needed to happen, making sex education not so taboo. I wanted to be able to have open, honest conversations about our bodies they changes we go through and explore the unknown. As a woman who battles with PCOS and Cervical Cancer it is also important that I stress the point of knowing your body, seeing and feeling the differences, accepting your body for what it is and keeping as healthy as possible. I wanted to create not only a brand to profit but a brand that stands on values of self, loving yourself, treating yourself and most importantly, knowing yourself

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

For me, the most effective way is to be visible! For every few post I like, see or share on my personal page, I do the same on my business page. Post a picture on your personal page? Post a picture or poll on your business page, stay in the mix. This also means being your own billboard. Walk with business cards, that cute Amazon phone case, get one made with your logo, you are your brand’s biggest supporter.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

I started this business with a stimulus check and one payroll check. I had recently left my job of ten years, with the last check, I put everything on myself. After buying my first set of toys, I took the money from my first eight sales and expanded, buying fan favorites, exploring new items even creating my own lubes. I worked everyday for me like I did for my old job, using whatever income I got to buy something, a major gamble but it all paid off.
