We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tony Metric. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tony below.
Tony, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
As a personal project in electronic music, I currently manage my social media to announce the release of my upcoming tracks, collaborations with other artists, or events where I will be performing. The social media platform I primarily use is Instagram because it allows me to connect more closely with my followers. I chose to manage it myself because people from different parts of the world message me to express their love for my music or tag me when they play my music at an event or have a proposal. I enjoy taking the time to personally respond to them and share the stories where they tag me. This has helped me build a solid fanbase with people around the world.
If you’re involved in selling products, it’s ideal to have a company that specializes in managing your social media. However, if you’re an artist looking to build a strong fanbase, I recommend creating a personal connection with your followers
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Since I was 8 years old, I felt a passion for electronic music, and over time, I focused on DJing. It was at the beginning of the pandemic when I had the opportunity to study online at various music production academies. I dedicated one-third of my day to daily studying everything necessary to produce professional electronic music. In 2020, I started releasing my musical tracks on European record labels. My project, Tony Metric, is focused on producing primarily House music with sub-genres such as Tech House, Minimal House, Disco House, etc.
As my music started to be heard worldwide and played by legendary artists like Bob Sinclair, several artists began contacting me to assist them in co-producing their musical tracks, as well as mixing and mastering.
My biggest achievement for this 2023 is that my personal Mixshow is now part of one of the most important electronic music radios globally, Data Transmission Radio. With “Behind The Blendz,” I present the best selection of music from artists around the world, as well as the inclusion of personal unreleased tracks.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Primarily, the quality of the music I have been working on is important to me. Year after year, I strive to offer something new to the audience and respond to messages from people who express their appreciation for my music. Whether they want to collaborate on a song or simply react with positive messages to my stories, I make an effort to respond in the most human way possible.
I always seek to stay updated on musical trends while keeping my personal signature.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
Despite not delving deeply into this topic, I have observed that there was a time when it was a trend but has significantly declined nowadays.
In my personal opinion, I don’t see a future in it.
