We were lucky to catch up with Tony M Fountain recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tony M , thanks for joining us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
Although my father and I don’t always see eye to eye, one of the best things he did for me was allow me to struggle earlier on in life when he could have bailed me out. This taught me resilience and allowed me to identify my weaknesses but also find my own strength to push forward and overcome extremely difficult times in my personal life, which later helped with my entrepreneurial endeavors.
My mom taught me patience, understanding, and perseverance, which allowed me not to become flustered or overwhelmed when things didn’t go as planned, to always look for the good in any situation, and not to develop a defeated mentality.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I began as a recording artist but became a single dad of two and had to put that career path on pause while focusing on my children. I didn’t want to drag them all around while touring, trying to chase a potential failed dream. However, I already had some recording equipment, so I began recording local acts and built a website to showcase the work.
The company I built from that point forward wasn’t built out of intent; it was purely by coincidence and how things played out and fell into place from that point forward.
While working with the local acts, I continued learning and wanted to implement some ideas into their careers, but unfortunately, they weren’t in the proper position to test my theories. So, I began reaching out to more established artists and offering free services, which built a rapport with other artists, and soon, I became a go-to for particular expertise. I then hired a few PR agents to assist with promoting the company, but they fell short of expectations. However, I learned the PR process during those experiences and began implementing them into my own campaigns and expanding my brand and services even more.
Because of this we’re now able to offer services such as press coverage, hacked social media account recovery, ad campaigns, celebrity features, album charting, and more.
What sets us apart from others is that, first and foremost, we are an artist-run company, not a suit trying to take advantage of uneducated artists. We have experience in the studio and in media. We’ve tried all the promotional services artists are offered by various companies and know which are legit, fake, and why they make a difference to the bottom line. We listen to what our clients are truly seeking and offer the best advice to reach their goals without the fluff or selling them services they don’t need to reach that particular goal.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
The pivotal point in my career was again becoming a single father and focusing more on other artists’ careers rather than my own. Looking back now that I’m older, it was a blessing. There was a point where I did some over-the-road trucking and learned very quickly that life on the road wasn’t for me, so had I continued as a touring artist myself, I’m not so sure I would have been very happy in life. Helping others achieve their goals is far more fulfilling to me personally. We win when they win.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I know it may sound cliche, but content is king. You have to post regularly. A recent example of this is with our Snapchat account at https://www.snapchat.com/add/officialnowent. We hadn’t focused on the platform much until recently but had several lenses on the platform that were performing well, gaining millions of uses, but our account was still stuck under 3000 followers. We took on a 30-day challenge to post three times a day on their Spotlight portion of the app and, within 20 days, grew our account to over 19,000.
