We recently connected with Tony Cobain and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tony thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I’m a multi-faceted artist. I’m sort of a chameleon. I’m an Actor first, I’d say, but I’m also a comedian and music artist. I started my journey really early. Around the age of 14. I learned the techinical side and theory of each form. I believe in learning the craft and taking it serious. I took several classes and studied the different techniques. Eventually when I built up enough confidence I started to showcase my talents in plays and live standup comedy.
I don’t think there is anything to do to speed up the process. Everyone is uniquely different. It could take someone 1 year or someone else 10, but I do believe you must have a certain level of confidence first and the ability to learn the basics.
What stood in my way was myself. Sometimes as humans we tend to overthink and not believe in ourselves. It goes back to confidence. Once you build up your confidence you can control any room.
Tony , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Tony Cobain. I am an Actor, Comedian, Music Artist, and Entrepreneur. My goal is to be my authentic self and that’s a common theme throughout my different genres of art. I strive to make inspirational content that is family friendly and that people can grow from.
The companies I started are Tony Cobain Studios and Laughter is Life. The studio is a production company that produces content from film to music. Laughter is Life is nonprofit organization with the goal to inspire and foster the growth of younger creators.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is that you can live forever through your art and can shape the reality during your time. Also, it’s a form of escapism for the consumer and it’s an honor to put out positive art that encourages people to keep going in life. During the pandemic a guy wrote me on Instagram and told me that one of my songs saved his life. That is priceless.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my social media presence by being consistent, sort of borderline annoying. I found one platform I was really good at and I started there. The goal is to constantly post on platforms. The best advice I can give is to post 3 times per day.
