We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tony Carpenter . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tony below.
Tony, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
A risk I took was investing money into radio promotion it was a risk because I honestly could not afford it at the time and I had no idea how I would make the money money back that I had spent before my rent was due but I leaned on faith and God and I had a sold out show and made the money back and then some.. and my radio promotion got me national notoriety it taught me a very valuable lesson that everything you desire is right outside of your comfort zone
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Tony Carpenter AKA the king of Rock&B my music/Singing style is A mixture of R&B & Rock with a country undertone I call it Rock&B there’s nothing like it! It’s like trying a new food for the first time that you find out to be very good! you don’t know what it’s like until you taste it! & once you taste it your hooked! But to be honest hearing it is only scratches the surface when I sing live you can feel my soul come through the MIC
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is being able to work hours recording writing & perfecting music that literally came from a thought in your mind and then putting the music out and then performing it in front of crowds and then they love it! It’s like music is my child and I create it and watch it grow! The instant gratification from just a smile of a fan is amazing! When they smile while you’re performing you know you earned a new fan! I live for the sunshine that I put on his or her face while performing that’s the stuff that money can’t buy!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
2019 I was a janitor part time at Fox59 new station in Indianapolis Indiana! 2024 I Did an interview as A singer on Fox17 Nashville Tennessee! The point is he is last will one day be first just because your at the bottom of the totem pole doesn’t mean you won’t make it to the top! Everything is temporary if you just keep pushing through eventually you’ll get to where you want to go but you have to go through it! There’s no short cuts in this lifetime you have to have perseverance I took that job years ago because I wanted to be on tv so I use to clean and visualize myself on set and even though it took years I eventually did just that! Being able to physically be around something I wanted to be a part of helped me to keep the hunger throughout the years not knowing when not knowing how but knowing I would find my way and having faith I did it!
