We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tony (2Ton3) Erhabor a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tony (2Ton3), appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Throughout my whole life, people always told me, “Tony you should be a motivational speaker, you’re so positive, thank you for encouraging me, you should be in a movie.” I wondered how could they be so confident in me when I spend hours, days, and weeks fighting within myself. It wasn’t until I got to college and I fully understood why people always told me that. In life, you have people who are like spiritual angels that come in at the right time. Well, that’s me. My purpose is to motivate, inspire, and influence anyone wanting to become a better individual in this world because we are all Gods children and it’s my duty to be a vessel to a better life.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been surrounded by music my entire life. I grew up singing in the choir while my mother played the piano and my brother played the drums. It wasn’t until middle school when I decided to take matters in my own hands. I would take my moms laptop, go to the bathroom, and record myself rapping over instrumentals and then post them on YouTube. I fell in love with the craft at a young age. After stopping the beginning of high school, one night during my freshman year of college, I was bored out of my mind, and I was a little bit depressed. My mom told me to pray and ask for a sign to come out of depression. Next thing you know, I was back writing lyrics just like I was in middle school. 5 years later, look at me now! Music has opened up many of doors for me as such as being a business owner, teaching me discipline, networking with great influencers just like me. I feel absolutely great when someone reaches out to me saying that my music inspires them and that they listen to my music everyday for an extra boost. Not only with my music, but it’s a great feeling when I see someone supporting my brand by wearing my shirts. To see people not only support your brand, but be inspired by it is a motivation to continue paving the way.
One thing that I am most proud of is being blessed with a personality and character that touches the world in a positive way. I’ve always wanted to be remembered as a God-fearing, motivating, inspiring young man in many generations. I feel as if I am doing that especially after graduating high school and college. My next step is to continue the legacy in this life and many more to come. Like I always say, “Talk To Me Don’t Lie To Me”
Have you ever had to pivot?
There was a time in my life when I moved away from my college town back into my parents home and it felt like my world had turned upside down. It seemed as if everything was a fresh start. In reality, it was for me. I moved out July 29, 2022 and the start of the first week in August, I was in the smallest towns of Mississippi putting up fences with my friends construction company. Perseverance was my best-friend during that time. Not knowing what was next, I knew I had to press forward and find my way. Literally a month later, I was living in London, England and Rovigo, Italy. It seemed like my world was collapsing, but I got blessed with an opportunity to connect and grow within myself. I had to pivot into another level that I didn’t know was in me. Being alone in another continent allowed me to see who I really am as a Child of God, Artist, and a business owner. People were able to see who I was, and that was the boost I needed to give me confidence that I will be known as one of the best artist to walk across this earth.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Who’s the DJ? DJ MACHO! My partner, Zachary Mikell or DJ Macho, has been nothing but a true friend and a real person to me. We met in 2019 at Mississippi State University where we attended college. It’s funny because I didn’t even know he knew that I made music. I remember him telling me that he was going to push my music and he did more than that. He showed me another way with music and how to have fun within the art. After sharing stages, going to performances, and traveling within our craft, I can say that he has influenced me more than anyone else in our industry. We are going to continue making history and paving the way for others just like us.
