Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tonio G. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tonio , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I knew I wanted to do music since I was 6 years old. The problem was I had no musical talents or a support system that would lead me to the ultimate success with proper guidance. So instead I choose to teach myself and sing and make music every single day, I wanted this bad. Around age 14 I really started to see a change in my vocal abilities and after winning my 7th grade talent show at “Yeager Middle School” in Douglasville Ga. I knew I was ready to embark on this journey of being an artist and making my mark on very fast paced and constantly changing and evolving industry
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative for me are three things.. freedom, character, and passion. Being able to be free to express all my emotions and life’s experiences through my music and also building my character through those experiences. That allows my passion to continue to grow and pushes me deeper into my craft.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I think we all can help artist and creatives by being more aware of the struggles we go through. And understanding how hard we work while still only getting Pennie’s on the dollar. Support your friends and family and keep pushing them to be great and create more.
