We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tonia Hailey a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Tonia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

I immigrated to America when I was 15 years old. Despite language barrier, cultural difference and family issues that ensued, my mission was not only to overcome but to realize the American dream. Along the way, kindness and generosity of people that were brought into my life, inspired me to help others and those in my community.

I always believe, America is the land of opportunities. Those who work hard, diligent and persistent, can and will succeed . With that mindset along with many help and opportunities that were given to me, I was grateful then and grateful today. I think my story behind my mission is the hardship I had to endure, drove me to overcome it and excel. But most importantly, to give something back to people and community because without them, I wouldn’t be here today.

Tonia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I embarked on real estate journey after retiring from the Airline industry. I’ve always had love for the people and architectural beauties of the properties. Each house has something special that has been etched from the people who live or lived there. For me, to represent them either to move forward to another house to make a home or to make new memories, is priceless and I am honored.

I am a real estate agent affiliated with Crye-Leike, Realtors brokerage company here in the greater area of Memphis. I help people sell or buy their dream home. But to me, my business means far beyond just that. I help them navigate, negotiate, lend a helping hand, overcoming challenges and walk them through the entire process to smoothest closing and fruition.

What sets me apart from others, I am willing to work as hard as I can and will do everything possible within my ability to help reach my clients’ goals. In my belief, life in general is about helping others. With my business, I am a part of one of the most important and the biggest investment of their life; such an honor to me. .

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

In real estate, with market fluctuation, interest rate changes, trend and economic shifting, it can be very challenging. Within the compounds of each transaction, obstacles or challenges may surface too. When I first came to America, I faced challenges in my earlier young life that were hopeless and beyond survivable when I was homeless and alone in a foreign country. However, I learned earlier then to never give up but to persevere. I worked 3 jobs, did not give up on education and continued on the path of achieving my goals. In my business, I apply the same resilience that I gained and earned. I believe there is always a solution to a problem. It’s my principle I live by.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?

Part of my continuing education for my business, I made the Ninja Installation as part of my business practice. Ninja Instillation is a 4 day experiential workshop that gives you the tools to increase your production through a proven, systematic approach. My personal approach is same as the Ninja approach which is to always keep in touch with your clients. My clients become my friends. I celebrate them on their special occasions, write a thoughtful notecards and give them a call to say hello and making sure they are well. In this virtual world we live in, we often forget how important to have personal relationship through an old fashion way.
