Toni, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My organization World System Builder is on a campaign to educate 30 million families by 2030. This resonates with me because I grew up in a household where money was never discussed. It is so important that everyone deserves financial education. Financial illiteracy is a global problem, and I am determined to ensure every household can have the resources to build a strong financial foundation.

Since I grew up poor and on welfare, I wanted to make sure my family and friends and community had the tools to be empowered and equipped to make educated decisions in regard to their money to build and protect wealth for their retirement and generations to come.

Through our campaign we have already educated 2.3 million households, and I am personally responsible for just shy of 2k, which I am extremely proud to say.

Though we are still short of our goal, we work tireless daily to educate families through daily financial literacy workshops in English and Spanish, and our Saving Your Future Book of the basic principles of financial education is available in 4 different languages.

I have dedicated my life to making a positive impact on the financial well-being of individuals, families, and business owners. With extensive experience as a Certified Financial Education Instructor, Licensed Financial Professional, and Registered Social Security Analyst, she possesses the knowledge and expertise needed to guide others towards financial success.

Born as one of four children to a young mother on welfare, my upbringing instilled in me a determination to create change and make a difference. My entrepreneurial journey began 30 years ago, with the last 10 years focused specifically on the financial services industry.

Driven by a powerful mission, my primary goal is to educate and empower others on how money works. I believe that financial literacy is key to building a secure future and works tirelessly to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed financial decisions.

My vision extends beyond personal financial success. I aim to bridge the wealth gap in my community by ensuring every household has proper life insurance protection and access to financial education. Through my efforts, I seek to help people retire with dignity and leave a lasting legacy of generational wealth.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I decided 10 years ago to pivot my career from being a salon owner and stylist to financial professional out of a need to retire. With absolutely no experience no college degree at the age of 46 after doing hair for 20 years, I can honestly say it was the best decision of my life. This opportunity gave me the chance to learn and earn and build a lucrative business in an industry generally I would never have a chance.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

The most effective way I have grown my business is social media and referrals. Two years ago, I started doing duets on TikTok platform, I was already very active on Facebook and literally went viral a few times very unexpectedly and the rest they say is history. I constantly and consistently ask for referrals because those leads are already warm from previous clients, I have been able to service, and both ways are free marketing.
