Alright, Tommy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Mission Statement: We believe in honesty, integrity, and knowledge. We want to help create a lifestyle that promotes wealth, diversity, and goodwill in our communities. We strive to offer a positive experience and work alongside our clients to help them accomplish their goals.
When I first set out in Real Estate, I wanted to do one thing. Help people work toward and accomplish their goals in homeownership. There is pride in owning a home, there are financial benefits, and having a home of one’s own – can offer comfort and security. And I realize that not all home goals are the same. Therefore, I work with an array of clientele: first-time homebuyers, investors, rent-to-own buyers, families upgrading or downsizing, and so much more!
My team and I bring an expert level of knowledge, professionalism, and collaboration to each client and sale.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Tommy Sinclair and I am the Broker Owner of Sinclair Real Estate. I started in Real Estate back in 2006 on the investor side. And we all know what happened in 2008, so at that point, I backed off and put real estate on the back burner. Soon after that, I became a dad, and quickly after that, I became a single dad living back home with my parents in Northern California. After piecing back my life, which took a little longer than I would have liked, I finally was able to come back to Real Estate. In 2013 – I got married and together we decided to start building our dream life, which included Real Estate. This time around I got licensed and became an agent. My first listing was a million-dollar listing. It sold, and I was back to square one. I realized I needed some more support in learning how to become successful and eventually open my own office. In late 2014 – our family relocated to the Palm Springs area, and I received an opportunity to work at a large brokerage office in an office role. I started as the front desk attendant and worked my way up to compliance officer for the brokerage. In that role, I learned the ins and outs of office administration, legal, and managing agents. In 2017 – I took a job as a Listings Manager for a Top Producing Team in the area, and it was there that I learned how to put a brokerage together. Then, in 2020 – I went out on my own. I launched Sinclair Realty Group and began to build a team. Last year, in 2022 my wife and I opened Sinclair Real Estate.
Sinclair Real Estate has been my dream for a very long time, and I am not done. I have a bigger vision. I am a leader and teacher, when agents join SRE – they get a mentor and guidance on creating a foundation for a business that will sustain and offer the ability to grow as a thriving agent and profitable business owner.
The best moments are when agents in our office get a WIN! We celebrate all of them and empower them with confidence to continue that momentum. I feel the best reflection on a Broker or Brokerage is the agents themselves. Who is representing you, and if they feel heard and seen as a contributor to the business’s success. I take pride in all my agents and make an investment in each one to nurture and strengthen their confidence and industry knowledge.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I know for me, it was my involvement with the office jobs I had. Prior to being an agent in the field, I worked as an Office Manager for a large brokerage and then as a Listings Manager for a Top Producing Team. During those two jobs, I was heavily involved with multiple transactions and several agents daily. My name became known became I was the main contact and go-to guy for all things related to the transaction, communication with vendors, compliance, and legal matters. My reputation built itself before I even stepped foot as an independent agent in the field.
How’d you meet your business partner?
Sinclair Real Estate was founded by myself, Tommy Sinclair, and my wife, Jackie Sinclair. Early on we knew we wanted to get out of corporate and build our own business. Her background is in Office Administration, HR, and Marketing. My background is in Sales and Real Estate. So our professional niches matched well together to merge into one business. She has her areas of expertise and I have mine. I really enjoy having her as my business partner, we work well together. I know sometimes it can be tricky to work with your spouse, but we find it very enjoyable. Together we bring an unstoppable ambition and energy that continues to cultivate and grow into more prosperity.
