We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tommy Else. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tommy below.
Alright, Tommy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents were both competitive bodybuilders.
As a child I’d sit in the gym’s daycare while they would train. I always wanted to go into the gym, as it looked liked an adult playground of sorts. I wanted to “play” on the machines.
Every time my Mother was dieting for a competition, so were we. This ingrained in me the essentials of proper nutrition, as well as her staunch discipline.
As soon as I was 15 I got my 1st gym membership and was off to the races.
Had I not been exposed to the positive example they set through fitness and discipline, I would not be in the profession I’m in.
Tommy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For 18 years I have been helping individuals achieve their fitness and nutritional goals.
For those who may not feel comfortable in the gym, not know what to do, or merely enjoy the convenience of training in your own home,
I bring the gym and knowledge to you. I also offer accountability.
For only through consistency will you achieve whatever your personal goals may be.
I offer a FREE consultation to discuss your goals, medical history, and current lifestyle.
I will then tell you what my initial plan for you would be. I then provide a FREE training session for you to get a feel for my training style and who I am.
The decision to make a change in your life is yours alone, but if you make it, I can help you on your journey.”
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe the personal connections I’ve made with all of my clientele is all the credibility I need. I don’t just work people out, and eating healthier, but try to give my clients an outlet mentally.
If I Mom or Dad can unload their day of work on me during their workout before they sit down to dinner… Then they can be more present at the dinner table, not unload their negativity on the family, and be more available to others.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
At one point I managed a high end private One-On-One Training facility. We offered private training rooms, full private bathrooms, showers, full amenities. The trainers had no sales goals. They merely were Personal Trainers, left to their own devices, to customize diet and training solutions on a per-client basis. I loved it. The owners unfortunately sold the franchise to a couple of guys’ who I didn’t feel had the clients best interest at heart. It wasn’t long before I left, and began going straight to people’s homes and training them in the privacy of their own home, and on their schedule.
