We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tom Petito. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tom below.
Tom, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
In the music world learning comes with patience. All musicians experience failure at times. You have to recognize mistakes as opportunities for growth. In my mind the most essential thing an artist can do is attend shows. Get involved with your local music scene. Don’t look at anyone else as your competitor. Instead go talk to them, learn their story and do something to support them. The music world will return the favor.
Tom, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Card Reader started back in 2019. Our genre can be defined as emo/hard rock/pop punk. The lineup features Daniel Boest (Bass), Marc Lambert (Guitarist), Daniel Reynolds (Drums) & Tom Petito (Vocalist/Guitarist). We’re a group of veteran musicians from Long Island NY eager to make our mark in music. Our driving force being our love for the game. There’s nothing better than going out into the world and playing shows. Our main objective is to stay active and continue to provide a fun show environment wherever we go. We have 8 songs released on all streaming platforms and 3 music videos available on youtube.com/cardreaderband. Get to know us through our newest single “Waiting Room”!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The reward is the feeling you get every time you take the stage + the incredible people you meet along the road of dream chasers. We’ve come across some pretty incredible music communities in our travels. We don’t take the experience for granted.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
We have dreams of continuing to build our fanbase, touring the country, overseas and beyond. We have dreams of playing major music festivals around the world. It’s on us to keep working hard for opportunities. You never know what the future holds so keep grinding.
