We recently connected with TOM DAVIS and have shared our conversation below.

TOM, appreciate you joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

I am a singer/songwriter and have been since I was about 12-years old. Getting up on that stage for the first time was a bit intimidating, but after that it felt like that was the place I was supposed to be. Making on doing this is quite a different story. After playing some smaller venues, I got interested in playing the larger places like theatre stages and casinos. It fell into place with a lot of ambition and a little luck. I was selected as an artist on the 66 Kix Tour in 2023 and played a few nice venues and some grand old theater stages with nice crowds. I later joined up with Jeff Tatum and Palomino Moon along with Becky Sparkman. We have been playing fairs, festivals and casinos ever since.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I got into professional music as a hobby. As my 7 children grew up, I had more time for it. I began making recordings of songs and putting them on YouTube for the kids and grandkids. I became acquainted with a producer for 8D Music who wanted to produce my stripped-down old songs with a new process. We put them out to the streaming services and wound up selling a few records. That inspired me to start my own record label which is Constantine Records. I then decided to take my songs to Nashville, TN and get the song recorded by professional musicians and a great producer Adam Knight at Hilltop Studios. My album SIXTY-TWO is still going strong on Spotify, iTunes/Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music, Deezer and other platforms.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Never say Never and Never Back Down! I always knew I was going to do this. It was the “when” that was in question. I help raise seven children and work several jobs at once in order to pay the bills and save up for this endeavor. I withstood 40 years making it happen for others before taking my turn and I have not regretted it. All things happen in their time. I practiced patience, generousness, and gratefulness the whole way. And now, I have it.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

The entire goal of this creative journey is to create something novel and yet comfortable at the same time. I am not here to shock the planet–that takes very little, if any talent. I am creating music that satisfies my soul and my need to tell stories with music and verse. If I like it, great! If you like it, double great! These songs have to mean something to me and to the listener. I can write hook lines and snappy ditties standing on my head. Do I want to be remembered as a flash in the pan or a revered artist? I am shooting for the latter.
