We were lucky to catch up with Toi Henderson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Toi, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you manage your own social media?

I would love to have a manager/ team as for right now, I’m a one woman show!

Toi, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Toi pronounced like “Toy” but my friends call me Paris. I’m a Virgo 80s baby and the oldest girl of 9 siblings. I’m from JXN,MS West side to be exact! As a kid, I was always pretty reserved and quiet. I really enjoyed my alone time and knew exactly what to do to keep myself entertained. Between 2019-2021 I went through so many changes! I moved to Louisiana and started working in Sales I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my spare time, but I knew sales wasn’t the only thing out there for me! I have a background in modeling but I found myself getting extremely bored with it! Whatever I decided to do I wanted it to be my truth something that is 100% authentically me!

August 15,2021 I launched my YouTube channel. I’ve always been such a private person. If you truly know me you know I can be really shy. So starting a YouTube channel was a major step because I once hated the sound of my voice. Since the launch of the channel I’ve work with a few major brands and I’m forever grateful. I pray for many more!

The newest and most exciting project I’ve been working on is my brand. Late September of this year in the middle of the night I decided to start my own business. It was totally Random, but I truly believe everything happens for a reason. In the upcoming months I will be launching NIOR Candles LLC! Everything about the brand is me! Minimal & Luxury! Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

It’s extremely hard for me to navigate my energy. I tend to get overwhelmed with new projects! I will give up on a project when I’m overwhelmed. I tend to think about what’s trending what ppl are searching for then I start to second guess myself. Am I doing this right? I had to learn to give myself grace! I’m a perfectionist but I know no one can be perfect! If I’m being one hundred percent myself then there is nothing to worry about!

Have you ever had to pivot?

While the newer version of myself is brewing, it can be a bit difficult to stay connected to those who have a close relationship with the older version of me. This is the biggest pivotal moment in my life right now. I really have to stand on what I want for myself. Also realizing that it’s not worth compromising.
