SubscribeWe’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Todd White. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Todd below.
Todd, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Back in 2001 my good friend Jeff Daily and I worked in the Mall together, I worked at a music store and have always had a love for music. We had a girl that worked for me that was getting married. She asked if he and I would like to DJ her wedding. At the time, we had never thought about it, didn’t own any equipment. So we all talked about it and she was dead set on us doing it. So next thing you know we called a local rental company, got the equipment needed and we ROCKED IT. There was a lady there that was getting married and she asked us to do hers. So why not, right? We repeated the rental process, and ROCKED IT AGAIN! Now in 2024 we have 9 DJ’s, we do 3 shows a night and offer a ton of services. DJ/MC, Photo. Booths, Marquee Light up letters, Officiant services, lighting, and more.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Sure, my name is Todd White and I own Spin-A-Round DJ service. We service the Southern Indiana, Louisville area and stretch into nashville, up to Cincinnati, and more. I absolutely love what I do, I have a wife and 3 girls, we love to boat, and dj! That’s about it. As far as Our company, we take a client’s vision and bring it to life. I think what really sets us apart is the fact that EVERY DJ we have employed with us ABSOLUTLEY loves what they do and they don’t just do it for a check. Of course that’s an amazing perk, however they 100% love providing a service that puts lifetime memories in the minds of our clients. I am very proud of the fact we started from truly nothing and have built an amazing team over the years. I am also proud that we took the jump and did this back from day 1. We have built this company from word of mouth, t-shirts, business cards, and an ad in the yellow pages. That tells you how long it’s been.
Our fans, followers and clients know that every show looks the same, and they know after over 200 reviews we are still a 5 star company. They know we will deliver a party every night!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
So when Social Media took off we started a Facebook page in hopes that we would build our fan base. We would post videos of our dance floors, or setups, and more. We asked friends to follow our page and share it when they could. We continued to build our fan base by providing amazing services at every event and currently we have over 3k followers just on FB. We have then created a Instagram account, a You tube channel and more.
If you are just starting a business use the magic of social media to your advantage. POST, POST, and POST. Ask for followers, ask for folks to share your page. Do live videos, post recorded video, and always post a picture! Just remember we started from business cards, t-shirts, and word of mouth. Today you have it a bit easier with the power of social media.
