TMCXJ , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.

Becoming a Producer was the journey I needed to take to grow. A lot of times as creatives/Artists we tend to box ourselves in or let society or our situation put us in certain categories. Working with Lasikbeats pushed me as an artist and made me bring my A game to every session and being open to learn. Working off of Logic Pro X / FL studios with him the game has now changed.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

To the ones that are meeting me now What’s the Vibe? My name is Tmcxj I’m a producer/artist from Compton Ca. I got into making music at age 18 and got my first management deal when I dropped my debut EP VYBZ in 2020. Since then I’ve teamed up with Lasikbeats to make my next project titled “Legacy” slated for a 2024 release. I make music that relates to others personal experiences including mine. I’m an artist turned producer so my journey looks different from the average producer but took years to do the work to excel. I’m most proud of Legacy with Lasik, I’m looking forward to share with you all!

Have you ever had to pivot?

It was spring 2021 and I just got out of my first management deal, I felt really lost as an artist and wanted to experience real growth. I started taking vocal lessons with Stevie Mackey online and then learned how to make beats with Lasikbeats. Under them I’ve transformed into the Producer/Artist I’ve dreamt about! There’s nothing wrong with taking minor step-backs for a major comeback!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Getting out the project “Legacy” with lasik, I’m also working on a secret project on an international level more news on that In the coming months with a surprise EP from me and a new Book called Peace dropping this fall.
