Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to TK Trinidad. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
TK, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
I came up with the name Center In because it is very important to take care of yourself first before you can take care of anyone else. Center In products helps to elevate the mind, body, and soul.
TK, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Center In Co is a skincare company located in Los Angeles. We are a luxury brand dedicated to providing all-natural, vegan skincare and home decor products in a variety of textures and sizes that cater to both women and men. Center In Co was founded by entrepreneur, TK Trinidad. Center In Company was started because she wanted to provide all-natural, vegan products similar to what she used in her Caribbean household. The goal is to provide quality products to those who desire to not only put good stuff in their body but on their body.
The experience working with major companies has provided her with the know-how to network and present amazing quality products.
With only $75 the company was born in December 2018. In 2019 the company only made $1500 for the whole year. Then the pandemic hit and in March 2020, Center In made 3K. That was the motivation needed to continue to push and grow the company to what it is now.
Center In is where zen meets lux. The goal is for our customers to take care of themselves first mentally, physically, and emotionally with our products so they can take care of the people around them.
We are known for our massage candle, which is a coconut wax candle infused with cocoa butter that can be used not only as a candle but as a lotion as well.
We also carry body butter, body wash, facial oil, body oil, and body scrubs.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients has been doing pop-up events and doing them consistently. We have been doing pop-ups for about 2 years, starting right after the pandemic. The ones we did on a weekly basis got us more regular customers. With the customers from the pop-ups, we asked them to join our email list. Email lists are important because we can alert customers as to when there are sales, new products, or scents dropping.
Also, word of mouth. Our customers from the pop-ups would tell their friends and even bring them to the pop-ups.
We also have been exploring Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest ads. Those have been helpful in gaining new customers as well.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building our audience on social is still a process. It is a job on top of the many jobs/tasks it takes to run a small business. The first thing we made sure to do is to get one handle that was short and sweet and that would be easy for people to access across all social media platforms.
As time goes on, we found out where most of our customers “hang out”. So we spend a little more time on that app. For us, that app is Instagram.
However, what we try to do is schedule certain posts on a regular basis to have a social media presence.
At this moment, Tik Tok and Instagram reels are really popular. So, we make sure to get as many videos saved that we can later use to create Tik Tok videos and IG reels. We then take the reels and add them to Pinterest. It is very much a juggling act, but very necessary.
We try to schedule posts across al social media platforms at least once a day.
For example, we would have a sales post scheduled around the same time an email goes out.
Through analytics, we see where our audience hangs out, what times during the day they respond most, and also what they like seeing.
With all that information, we are able to schedule a social media calendar, which is quite helpful when times get busy and we don’t have time to even look at social media.
