We recently connected with Tk Art and have shared our conversation below.
Tk , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
Navigating unexpected problems is a crucial skill I had to learn quickly. Going on the entrepreneurial path, whether in art, media, music, design, or any other field, demands a mastery of handling unforeseen issues. It’s not a question of “if” but rather “when” hurdles will arise. As both an entrepreneur and an artist, I’ve come to understand that when these unexpected problems occur – whether during a gallery exhibition, vending at an event, conducting an interview, or orchestrating my own event – they are inevitable. The key lies in adapting to these situations without allowing them to veer me off course. I’ve personally discovered that when faced with the unexpected, I must continue with my what i am doing and remain focused on my ultimate goal. The occurrence of challenges cannot change my aspirations or reshape my goals for the given circumstance. Instead, I’ve learned to acknowledge the situation, stay present in the moment, and use it to continue progressing towards my objectives.
Tk , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Phoenix, AZ native, and for me, art has been an integral part of my journey. Since early on, spanning from middle school to high school and into college. It has consistently grown and evolved into my chosen path. As an artist i do have many things that give me inspiration. I get a lot of inspiration from music with Hiphop being my go to genre. I love listening to artist like Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, OutKast, Lupe Fiasco, Wiz Khalifa, Notorious BIG, and Mac Miller to name a few. Hiphop music gives me so much inspiration and motivation to continue what I do and press forward. Along with inspiration from my family, my own culture, anime and comics, and more. All these things give motivation and help shape me and my work.
My artistic journey has been far from smooth, riddled with mistakes and failures. I started off as a graphic designer, then went into building and creating a clothing company and now I am on the path as a full time artist. I’ve persevered, continuously pushing myself to excel. Now, my ultimate goal is to become a full-time creator, designer, and business owner. Being able to use my art and creativity and make a life for myself is what dreams are made of. The world of art fascinates me, not only for its creative prospects but also for the connections it enables. Through art, I’ve established valuable relationships and collaborated with exceptional artist. These connections have provided clarity about how to harness my own abilities.
I identify as a digital artist and designer, combining digital painting and editing techniques to create artworks that defy the conventional expectations of digital work. Simultaneously, I am also in the process of establishing my own media company, LQ Media, designed to foster collaboration among creatives. My ultimate goal for LQ Media, a company specializing in photography and videography work, is to thrive and attain recognition as a prominent and sought-after media entity. My goal is to construct a team proficient in producing top-tier photography and video content. This team will encompass every facet required for productions, enabling us to seamlessly oversee the creative journey from concept to realization, through development to finalization.
My overall goal is for my art and media company is to gain recognition both domestically and internationally. As a digital artist and designer, I aspire to leverage my talents to create a rewarding life for myself and my loved ones. Being able to collaborate with artists worldwide, to produce diverse creative projects whether through photoshoots, video shoots, or canvas artworks, continuously drives my passion. Being able to contribute to the creation of beautiful, lasting pieces that leave a mark on the world, is what any artist would want.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The aspect that I find most rewarding is the freedom to fully express yourself. Each creative individual possesses a uniqueness that can be tapped into when engaging in artistic creativity. Unlike many other industries, the realm of art allows for pure authenticity into one’s own creations. While artists do face their share of challenges, there’s a certain genuineness that accompanies both the artist and their work. When encountering an artist and their creations, what you see is what you get.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal and mission revolve around achieving success as a full-time artist, both in my work and lifestyle. Taking my artistic talent to create a prosperous and fulfilling life is a major goal. Also, managing my own company stands as a core ambition. My vision is to establish a media business that fosters collaborative efforts among artists, ensuring good pay and mutual support towards success in our respective fields. Achieving individual success is great, but doing so within a community of like-minded creatives is even better. My objective is to cultivate a company that gives creative freedom, financial stability, and widespread influence.
