We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Titus Peoples a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Titus thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I’ve always been a writer. I’ve been writing stories since I first learned to write as a child. I didn’t know what form of creative writing my career would take, but I always knew I wanted to be a writer. I attended film school to master my craft of storytelling. The skill that I found most essential was learning the ability to build worlds and be intentional with my characters and their dialogue. I can say the only obstacle I had was myself, early film career Titus was unfocused and hardheaded.

Titus , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Titus Peoples, I’m a New York native born and raised in Harlem. I’m a two time author and 3 time award winning screenwriter. I’ve been writing screenplays for over ten years but the last fives has gotten me the most industry recognition. I’ve always been a storyteller but my love for movies and tv is what got me into screenwriting. The ability to turn blank pages into films like E.T., Jaws, and Indiana Jones has always amazed me. I founded my own independent film studio company, Ultimate Class, in 2018 and co-produced my first feature film, “The Cattle Farmer, ” a psychological horror thriller written and directed by Matt Vincini. My work ethic sets me apart from others, and I will outwork you. I want the people to know that Ultimate Class will help usher in a new generation of writers and directors.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is sharing your perspective on the world.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The particular goal and mission is to wake up (Lord’s willing) every day and be a better version of myself than the previous day. The other mission is to never lose love for what I do and have fun doing it.
