We were lucky to catch up with Tiranda Ward recently and have shared our conversation below.

Tiranda, appreciate you joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.

I’m just a small-town girl with dreams and an even bigger passion for the beauty industry. It all started when I was in middle school. I would visit my great Auntie who was great hairstylist who did my hair and others hair in the community. I would watch her do the local ladies hair in the community and saw how she made them feel beautiful. Just watching how my great Auntie interact with her clients and the relationships she built with the ladies in community inspired me to want to be in the beauty industry. So I started my journey of being a hairstylist in middle school. I’ve always knew I was going be in the beauty industry, if not the beauty industry I wanted to be an engineer in the automotive industry. Long story short I took the risk and invested into myself, went to cosmetology school and got my license. I started exploring other avenues in the beauty industry and learned other skills and grew a passion for doing Full Body Waxing, Lash extensions, and Permanent Makeup. As of today I’m still carving my path in the industry, empowering others to do the same. I find myself reflecting on the risks I’ve had taken. Investing in myself, both financially and emotionally, proved to be the catalyst for my success. My journey stands as a testament to the transformative power of taking risks, investing in oneself, and pursuing a passion relentlessly. I have not only found success in the beauty industry but had become a living example of how taking risk begins with believing in oneself, you can do anything with passion behind it.

Hello, gorgeous souls! I’m a Tiranda Ward, a small-town cosmetologist with a deep-rooted passion for beautifying women. With nearly a decade of experience in the beauty industry, I’ve honed my skills to specialize in full body waxing, lash extensions, and the artistry of permanent makeup. I want to make all of my current and potential clients feel beautiful by celebrating their unique beauty and boosting their confidence.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy for me for growing my clientele was building relationships with my clients and also networking with at events that I would go to. I also learned how to make Facebook ads to market myself and referrals.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I think what helped me build my reputation within my market are my review and word of mouth. I always ask my new clients how they heard about me and they either say I have great reviews and or their friends referred them to me.
