We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tinnie Re’nee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tinnie , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

Pretty Madame is a very unique name that I have created that took a lot of thought. While I was testing hair vendors until I found the perfect one fit for a Goddess. Pretty is a very common word but what does “Pretty” actually mean? Pretty is what makes you, YOU! It’s owning yourself unapologetically. Owning yourself unapologetically means that you have to be addressed correctly right? I Didn’t like the way “Pretty Lady” Sounded so I decided to find something similar – then It clicked. Pretty Madame!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Having a business is something I have always thought of having but surprisingly it shocked me that I found so much passion to proceed with beauty and fashion. I love that fact that you can express yourself in many different ways in this industry! For example, I love styling wigs with different textures, lengths, and colors! Like how cool can it be to be able to switch up your hair style with anything you want in just a couple of hours! Now with clothing? This is also a BIG DEAL! no matter what the occasion is, you’ll always want to wear something that’s appropriate for the setting and also that fits your personality/mood. I wanted to create a safe space not only for me but for others as well to shop without a hassle for all of their needs.. What I take pride in the most about my business is how open that I am with all of my clients and create a special relationship which each and everyone of them and personally help them find exactly what they need from head to toe! I created Pretty Madame so everyone can feel more comfortable with expressing themselves with their looks. From the style on your head, outfit to fit any occasion because we are always prepared for each and every event, and also to the accessories you need to complete your look! We got it to help you get ready and to kill any event that you attend.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The best source of new client’s for me honestly comes from word of mouth. In this industry, it means a lot to have trust and with those who I have already build an relationship with always promote me without even knowing because of the quality that I bring to them is top tier.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

This is a great question. I am actually in the process of this journey now! I recently lost my business Instagram which had most of my clientele that brought regularly and counted on me for outfits, accessories, and hair for photoshoots and other events. I was unable to obtain my original Instagram and had to start over again. When the situation first occurred, I wanted to give up. I felt like all of my hard work that I have put it was gone in a blink of an eye – but then I later realized my end goal and why I started. I was able to reach a certain goal that means I can do it again, but Better!
