We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful TINISHA GRAYSON. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with TINISHA below.
TINISHA, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?
I come from a family where we all are good at something and public relations is mine. I would say that the hero behind my success would have to be my brother Virgil and my late brother Terrence. These two have taught me a lot when it comes to this journey called life. They taught me the importance of owning your own and standing firm on your name. I was taught that you have to be consistent no matter how hard the assignment is that is placed in front of you and that you have to keep going no matter what.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am 27 years old and I am truly not the product of my environment. I wasn’t raised with a silver spoon although I was very spoiled even in times were we didn’t have a lot my parents always made each vacation, each birthday feel like they spent a million dollars. I do a lot in this entertainment industry, I am a podcaster, host, motivational speaker, publicist, entertainment manager, marketing specialist, and e-book author who has experienced my fair share of setbacks but I always knew it would allow me to become greater than what I ever went through. Marketing has always been my greatest love even when I didn’t want to market myself or help others market themselves I always came back to it because it is truly my passion and quite frankly my first child.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Whew, a lesson that I had to unlearn was to stop helping people you consider friends or family. When I first got into the world of Public Relations I would do small jobs for friends who also had businesses sometimes for free and some paid. I learned that business and personal should not mix because the tone in which you speak in those situations is different. It boiled down to a point where I no longer wanted to help on the business so it was decided for me that the friendship could no longer be. I learned a very important lesson that day which was always keep business and personal seperated.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I would say my background in customer service. I wasn’t always in public relations or marketing. I got my first start understanding people working for fortune 500 companies and understanding how business works, from there I would do free events and contact senators, churches, musical acts etc and bring them together for events and networking seminars and from there I truly became unstoppable.
