Tina , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
My daughter, Taylor, brought up the idea of doing luxury picnics during the pandemic. She has three heart conditions and a weak immune system, which meant that we were limited to many different activities even when the pandemic subsided. Being a full-time college student, making a covid-friendly small business was the perfect match for us. Our picnic company was built to be different, easy to book with, and of course Instagram worthy! My daughter has a entrepreneur mindset, which confirmed my decision to help my daughter begin this business. We spent weeks collecting unique inventory and researching on what we wanted to provide for our clients. We wanted to also launch our picnic company in a different way by collaborating with TikTok influencers. Due to the viral videos that these influencers posted, our website and social media platforms grew rapidly. As a mom and daughter duo, we pour our love into every set up as if our clients were family. Today, we take pride in curating picnics for every occasion. We spend the majority of our limited days off, purchasing more inventory, to make our picnics stand out from the rest. Inspiration is taken from not only our own interior design style but also the beautiful nature that surrounds our picnic settings. We watch as our clients fall in love with every moment at their birthday celebration, anniversary, baby shower, proposal, date night, bridal shower: the reasons to book a luxury picnic with us are endless.



As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello! We are a mother and daughter duo who run a luxury picnic company in the Orlando area called, Orlandos Finest Picnics. As a luxury picnic company, we provide picnics for Orlando locals/travelers. With our skills, we can provide luxury picnics for any occasion with various themes including Simply Boho, Simply Neutral, Perfectly Pink, Simply Sage, and our Marry Me package. Orlandos Finest Picnics also offers photo shoot back drops and inventory rentals that range from Peacock chairs to bar carts. The mother part of the business, Tina; works alongside her daughter Taylor. We got into the luxury picnic industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with a combined 6,000 followers on our social media platforms, we have been fully booked every single month with luxury picnics even with the pandemic over. We solve many different problems for our clients. Finding a unique birthday or anniversary celebration can be extremely difficult, we make an experience that is special and unforgettable. During our business, we have been a part of more than 50 picnic proposals, as it creates an intimate setting that is perfect for photographs and provides our clients with a stress free planning. We have had plenty of family friends who have spent months trying to find a perfect proposal idea, a picnic proposal is one that your significant other will never forget. What makes us unique from other companies in the area is that we work with local creators and other small businesses in our community. We are woman-owned and shown nothing but support along our journey. None of our picnics are the same, rushed, or not created with any ounce of love. I would say that we are most proud of how many picnics we have been able to curate from the very beginning of our business: a continuing growing number of 300. My daughter is a full-time undergraduate studying communication sciences and disorders. She did not want a regular 9 to 5 during her college studies, our small business is far from a “normal” job. Through hard work, lots of time editing and producing content, getting an LLC, paying park fees/permits, receiving google reviews: we have come so far. We hope that any potential customers consider the mother and daughter team behind our business and are willing to support us in anyway possible.



How did you build your audience on social media?
My daughter works 24 hours trying to grow our social media pages. TikTok continues to be one of our largest growing platforms. My daughter watched a lot of YouTube videos on how to gain followers, reached out to other users in our community, collaborated with other influencers. The one piece of advice that I would give for building a social media presence is deciding on a niche and truly sticking with it. Be consistent, unique, and create post that you would stop scrolling for.



Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
There are many aspects of our picnic business that helped build our positive reputation within the market. Since the beginning of our launch, we have stayed in our own lane when it comes to other companies in our area. We have always respected our clients with the best customer service skills. We have also never risked our clients getting in trouble by going through the correct park permits and fees. Getting our LLC and insurance is so important for our customers safety. It is one of the many reasons why the majority of our Google reviews state how consistent we are with communication and that we put so much effort into making their experience incredible. I will never forget an interaction that we had with a client after their picnic, they stated that there were “details all over the picnic settings that you can almost get lost in the special elements that we add (free of charge) before they can even continue a conversation with one another.” We have been a part of so many wonderful moments where we have helped a couple begin a new life together or celebrated another year. We hope that when people hear our company name of “Orlandos Finest Picnics,” they think of our positive impact on our customers, the hard work that we put in, and remember a time when they were able to relax at one of our picnics.
