We recently connected with Tina Fraley and have shared our conversation below.
Tina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Absolutely, there was indeed a defining moment in my professional career that reshaped not only my own life but also the way I approach wellness and how I guide others on their journeys to health.
For years, I had been solely focused on the physical aspect of health, specifically weight loss. I was convinced that if I could just reach my ideal weight, all the other pieces of my life would magically fall into place. The number on the scale was my measure of success, my barometer for happiness. After years of struggle, I finally achieved what I thought was my ultimate goal—I lost 150 pounds. Yet, despite this monumental achievement, I was met with an unexpected realization: the weight loss alone hadn’t fulfilled me in the ways I had anticipated. My heart, mind, and soul were still searching for something deeper, something more.
It was at this point that I understood wellness is not a single dimension of physicality; it’s a complex tapestry that weaves together the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our lives. This was the moment that changed everything for me. I recognized that true wellness isn’t about reaching a number on a scale; it’s about nurturing every part of ourselves. That’s when I developed a more holistic approach to wellness—one that encapsulates the principles of Eat, Move, and Believe.
“Eat” represents nourishment in all forms—not just the food we consume but also what we feed our minds and souls. It’s about choosing sustenance that is life-giving, enriching, and aligned with our body’s needs as well as our emotional and spiritual well-being.
“Move” extends beyond physical exercise. It’s about moving through life with intention, grace, and a sense of purpose. It’s about physical activity that joyfully aligns with our unique bodies and life circumstances and encourages us to embrace movement as a celebration of our capabilities.
“Believe” is perhaps the most transformative aspect. It encompasses the belief in oneself, the power of a positive mindset, and the faith that each of us has the capacity to overcome challenges. It’s about cultivating a belief system that supports growth and fosters resilience.
This epiphany led me to revamp not only my personal life but also my professional practice. I began to integrate this holistic approach into my work, empowering others to find balance and wellness in a way that resonated with their entire being. The transformation of my clients—seeing them thrive not just physically, but also mentally and spiritually—has been the most rewarding part of embracing this new trajectory.
In sharing my story, I hope to impart the wisdom that well-being is multifaceted. It’s not just about the external changes, but also about the internal journey. When we align our practices to nourish every part of ourselves, that’s when we truly flourish. This realization has been the cornerstone of my career and the guiding principle for the work I do today.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As the founder of FitMinded Living and the creative force behind Power House Studios, I’m passionate about helping people rediscover their potential and redefine their relationship with wellness. My journey in the health and fitness industry began with my own personal struggle with weight and self-image. After successfully shedding 150 pounds, I realized that true well-being required a more comprehensive, holistic approach. This realization led me to create a brand and a space that reflects these values.
FitMinded Living is a wellness brand that goes beyond the traditional confines of fitness. The services I offer bridge the gap between physical health and mental resilience, encompassing personalized fitness training, nutritional guidance, and mindset coaching. I am committed to helping clients achieve a balanced lifestyle, where healthy eating, purposeful movement, and a strong belief in one’s self-worth come together to create lasting change.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the most powerful examples of resilience in my personal journey happened around a milestone event that was both a high and a low within a very short time span. Just as my philosophy centers around the holistic approach to wellness with FitMinded Living, and the nurturing environment we’ve built at Power House Studios, I myself was put to the test in a way I could never have anticipated.
I had just achieved a significant personal goal—I ran a 10K across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. This was an incredible achievement not just for me, but it was a shared victory with my family and studio members who were there, running alongside me. The moment was symbolic of everything we stand for at FitMinded Living: setting challenging goals, preparing our minds and bodies to meet them, and then celebrating the success as a community.
However, the joy and pride from this accomplishment were rapidly overshadowed by a shocking diagnosis. Just one week later, I was faced with the news that I had cancer. This news came as a devastating blow, not just to me but to everyone connected to me through FitMinded Living and Power House Studios. The future was suddenly uncertain, and my role as a leader and motivator took on a new, deeply personal dimension.
Starting chemotherapy marked the beginning of a year-long battle with cancer. It was a journey that tested my physical and emotional limits, and it was during this time that the true power of a FitMinded community revealed itself. The support, love, and encouragement I received were overwhelming. The same people I had been guiding and supporting were now lifting me up through one of the darkest and most challenging periods of my life.
The resilience I had cultivated within myself and had always encouraged in others became my saving grace. Despite the grueling treatments and the toll they took, I found strength in the principles of Eat, Move, and Believe. I continued to nourish my body as best as I could, moved when I had the strength, and, perhaps most importantly, maintained a belief in my ability to overcome this immense challenge.
Today, I am grateful to say that I am cancer-free. This experience has not only demonstrated my own resilience but has shone a light on the incredible power of community support. FitMinded Living and Power House Studios are not just about physical fitness; they are about building a foundation of strength that can carry us through life’s highest highs and its lowest lows.
The lesson in my story is that resilience is not just an individual trait; it’s something that can be magnified and fortified by the people around us. It’s about facing adversity with the courage that comes from knowing we are not alone. My journey through cancer, while deeply personal, has underscored the importance of the work we do at FitMinded Living—creating spaces where people can come together to grow stronger, no matter what life throws their way.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What truly helped me build my reputation within the wellness market is a steadfast commitment to integrity and transparency. These are not just buzzwords for me; they are the foundational elements of my business model at FitMinded Living and the very essence of Power House Studios. Every piece of advice, every program we create, and every interaction with our community is rooted in these core values.
From the outset, I recognized that the health industry was riddled with quick fixes and one-size-fits-all solutions. I was determined to cut through that noise and speak honestly about what it means to be truly healthy. I aimed to dispel the myths that have long dominated fitness culture—the obsession with workouts just to burn calories and restrictive diets that do more harm than good. Instead, I focused on developing a more comprehensive and humane approach to wellness.
At FitMinded Living, we promote an understanding that we are complex, multifaceted beings. Our programs and services are designed to honor that complexity. We provide environments that encourage collaboration and connection, understanding that these are essential for our collective well-being. We emphasize the importance of integrating our mental and emotional health with our physical fitness because this integration is where real, sustainable strength is developed.
Furthermore, I’ve always been open about my own journey, including the highs and lows I’ve experienced. Sharing my personal story, including my battle with cancer and the process of healing, has allowed others to see the authenticity behind my brand. People resonate with real stories and genuine experiences because they can relate to them. By showing my own vulnerability and resilience, I’ve been able to connect with my community on a deeper level.
This transparency extends to the way I approach fitness and wellness coaching. I counsel clients to live congruently, aligning their actions with their values, and to empower themselves to live the best life they can. By encouraging this kind of empowerment, I push against the outdated paradigms of the industry and offer something more meaningful and effective.
The reputation of FitMinded Living is built on the principle that when our environments are conducive to genuine human connection and when we exercise all aspects of our humanity, we thrive. Our bodies strengthen, our minds grow, and we become FitMinded for the lifetime journey of living well. This is the message that sets us apart and has solidified our reputation as a brand that truly cares about the holistic well-being of our clients.
