We recently connected with Tina F Foy and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I started out looking for skincare products that worked for my skin. I got tired of wearing a lot of makeup to cover my blemishes. I struggled with my confidence, especially since I was out front as a model. I’ve always had issues with my skin, and it was hard to find a product that worked. I tried name brands and some home remedies, but they only gave me a temporary fix. My skin breakouts only got worse with my pregnancies, which brought myself-confidence to its lowest point. After my second pregnancy, I decided that I would be my own solution. I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of people. I found a company with great people that could make what I needed. Once I completed the process, I tested my products, and the results were terrific. I was so happy! I realized there could be other women going through the same struggles. To ensure I wasn’t seeing what I wanted to, I had others use my products, and they felt the same way. I decided to turn it into a business. Bella by Tina Foy was born. The name “Bella” comes from my younger sister, who passed away a few years ago, and Foy is my family name.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Bella by Tina Foy Ltd. Co. is a family company, and we care about families. We help people get the skin they want without taking up precious time. We are known for providing luxury products without the luxury price, and a little goes a long way. Our skincare products are gifts. We want everyone to feel like they’re giving a gift to themselves or anyone else—the advantage of self-care and great skin. I believe that what sets us apart from others is that everyone involved in promoting the brand actually uses the products, from the CEO to the faces of the collections. It’s not just an advertisement. Our skincare line is a part of our lifestyle. I am most proud of the results that our customers get from using clean products. A close second is the authenticity that Bella by Tina Foy brings to the beauty space. Customers can talk to me directly or see us on IG live, flaws and all. Yes, we are a business, but humans run the business. We’re everyday people who put one foot in front of the other.
We offer four collections of self-care. Our Spa Collection is for your home spa day. Our Glow Collection maintains a fresh glow on your face during your outings. Our Renew Collection is to help you get back on track if you take a little break from your skincare routine. In our Men’s Collection, we are currently adding more items for use with our beard oil. Our products all work well together.
We are expanding our brand with Bella By Tina Foy Cosmetics launching May 23, 2023. Offering luxury cosmetics to go along with our luxurious skincare line.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I officially launched Bella By Tina Foy in 2020. We launched during the time of the Coronavirus pandemic. The very day we went live online, our county went on lockdown because of the pandemic. A revamp had to take place to introduce and publicize the products. There was no big launch party, no in-person networking, or giving out samples. I had to throw out everything that I had planned in the way of advertising, and pivot quickly. I went from not caring about social media to it being my primary way of advertising and networking. I had to pivot because there was no other way for me to get my customers’ attention. Social media was where everyone went for information, so that’s where my business needed to be as well!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think that being down to earth and showing who I am flaws and all has helped me along with telling my story of how Bella by Tina Foy was created. Getting to know people and hearing their experiences and sharing my own. I believe that it is important to connect with people on a personal level, as well as helping them see who you are as a person. The more you can relate to someone the more they will be able to relate to you.
As far as building a reputation goes, I have always said that if you want something done right do it yourself. This holds true in many aspects of life including business.
