We were lucky to catch up with Tina Cárdenas recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Sacred Touch Aesthetics I came up with this name because I wanted to incorporate my reiki healing into my esthetics. When I start my facials I always ask spirit to help me, guide me in all I do.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I was the supervising registered dental assistant for the department of corrections for 18 years. I found myself injured and unable to continue working in that environment. In 2018 I signed up esthetics school and retrained. I opened my first salon suite in February 2020 and then Covid hit. I had to totally rethink my new career choice and find ways to make an income during this time.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met Leslie Valenzuela in 2018 and instantly knew we had a connection. When I started looking at leasing my own space I immediately turned to Leslie to see if she wanted “in” on this new venture.
