We were lucky to catch up with Timothy McDade recently and have shared our conversation below.

Timothy, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?

I want to build a legacy through aligning your walk with your purpose. To be able to build generational wealth for my family through passion, determination, and faith. I would hope they would say he had a quiet , confident aurora about him, that he loved his wife and kids, family, loved to cook and create, that he was down to earth.
I would love to be remembered for being a James Beard Award Winner, that pushed the boundaries of BBQ.

Timothy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m a private chef and Co -Owner of GooodNewz BBQ with my wife Terah McDade. Cooking is a passion I had since I was seven years old pretending to have my own restaurant watching my parents cook ,bake, and grill. One thing we are most proud of is that the name of the company (GooodNewz BBQ) aligns with what we believe, which is Let Our Goood Newz Be Food For Your Soul. Every time you do business with us it’s always from a good and joyful place that touches your spirit and your stomach.

Have you ever had to pivot?

During this journey it’s been plenty of pivots, from getting weekly catering gigs ,to going months without being able to sell a single plate of food, to going back to the work force. I’m currently working overnight at grocery store right now . I’m a husband, father, chef , but I’m a provider.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Well im currently on the journey of working a traditional job and cooking at the same time for the second or third time. Before my dad passed he told me don’t quit, my wife is my biggest supporter , and I just can’t give up . I know delay isn’t denial. The Bible teaches us let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not
