We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tim Moore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tim below.
Alright, Tim thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry
One of our best known customers is Google, who has been using Clixie AI for 4 1/2 years to increase video learning engagement. One of their biggest challenges has been to make individual videos in as many languages as they can, as a native English speaker cannot just be dubbed over in Japanese and be effective for the learners. This adds a tremendous amount of cost, prohibitively in most cases. The new trend of AI-generated video has changed the landscape, as it is *much* easier, cheaper and faster to modify videos into multiple languages than ever before. Most folks just skip the expensive part and just create quality training videos direct from AI platforms, such as Google Flow, Clixie AI or VEO.

Tim, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My roots go back to my grandmother, a “Rosie The Riveter” for Ford Motor Company during WWII. She never had a big bank account but that didn’t matter at all! She taught me how to value people and hard work. I was honored to accept her Congressional Gold Medal at the Capitol Building in 2024. My father (Larry Moore) married my mom at 20, juggled three jobs, and became a leader figure in media publishing before he was 30. He founded CText, Inc and revolutionized the newspaper industry, and his incredible drive pushed me to be better.
My father and another mentor, Professor David J. Brophy (University of Michigan), taught me key skills: how to treat people fairly, how to sell, pivot, and run a company, and how to treat everyone with equal respect (whether they owned the building or cleaned it).
At 19, I began traveling globally (especially to Brazil). One of my proudest achievements was carrying the Netscape Master Gold Licenses to Brazil, helping establish the country’s first Internet Service Providers (“ISP’s”), like Terra Networks. I was involved in founding the Brazilian Internet Association and helped consolidate telecom companies in Central America into a VoIP business with Telefonica. We scaled TESA Telecom to 500,000 subscribers and sold it to a Brazilian company.
Through the years, I’ve worked across the U.S., Mexico, Italy, Hong Kong, and beyond, creating and scaling multiple startups. Today, Clixie AI stands as our most exciting venture. We are able to add immediate value to online videos for training, education, licensing & certification through interactivity.
Out of all of that, what means the most are **people**. I talk to everyone (the harder skill is listening). People tell me: I have a “good vibe”. That I’m authentic, open, with a kind face and an easy smile. That I show up for myself and others. That I am fun, easy to talk to and comfortable to be around.

Can you talk to us about your experience with selling businesses?
I have sold multiple businesses such as CText Inc. and North Plains Systems Inc. for multiple $10’s of millions, but the learning story is about TESA Telecom. We sold 50% of the company to a much larger Brazilian company called Graber Seguranca’s and formed a new company that Graber bought us out of 2 years. People ask me, “When should we start planning on how to exit the company?”, The lesson I learned: you should start thinking about selling the company the same day you think about starting it. A proper Operating Agreement means everything, when it includes things like “Drag-along, tag-along” and “First right of Refusal”.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My advice to anyone looking to build their social media presence is:
1) Avoid auto-generated AI content (it’s still obvious).
2) Be authentic and genuine.
3) Post when there’s something to say, not just to have a cadence.
4) Go to lots of local events, take lots of pictures and tag everyone you see in you posts.
