We were lucky to catch up with Tilla Duula recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tilla thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
One the biggest risks I took was quitting my job to get my CDL. I was having my first child so I was scared because I was working at a T-Shirt printing shop and I wasn’t making a lot of money, so I took a leap.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Tilla Dulla I been rapping since 13 years old Ive listened to artist like lil Wayne drake j cole and much more. Growing up I was always surrounded by family members making music so in a way that inspired me. My craft is what makes me the trendsetter I am. I’ve always been the type to go against the grain. I feel as if my music reflects that. Being a rap artist I’m able to show the world you don’t have to be what people want you to be instead be yourself.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
To me the most rewarding part of being a artist and creative is the entire process of creating.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
For me the 50th Law Of Power is my go to book. It taught me to be fearless while embracing the chaos, I believe in this life that’s a good mindset to have.
