We recently connected with Tiffany Tyson and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany , thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

Boss Babe Szn was established on October 18, 2021. It is built on the biblical kingdom principals of the power of the tongue , speaking things into existence , and casting all of your anxieties on him– Romans 4:17, Proverbs 18:21 and 1 Peter 5:7. Boss Babe Szn is a brand and apparel line that encourages overall well being , and becoming the “boss” . B.O.S.S is an acronym , which stands for Building Opportunities for Self Sufficiency. This includes mental and physical health , self care and awareness. We strive to provide resources and positive atmospheres to aid in the betterment of all .

Boss Babe Szn LLC came about in the midst of the pandemic , early 2020 . I had began experiencing anxiety attacks more frequently , and suffering from depression . I stayed to myself , didn’t interact with because of the fear of being judged . That’s when I realized that in order for me to get out of the situation , I have to move . There are numerous people suffering from the same or similar situations that might be afraid to speak up . I figured it would be more impactful to create group spaces , events and activities to aid in wellness in the community in unique and fun settings .

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Tiffany Tyson , the God driven force behind Boss Babe Szn LLC . As a Mental Wellness Coach and Advocate , I value peace and empowerment. I made it my mission to help individuals with self administered inner healing and deliverance, daily affirmations, all while building a relationship with God.

I graduated from Norfolk State University with a passion to increase the well-being of the 757 community through dance , music , and self care. I aspire to connect and uplift the community by increasing their confidence, helping them connect with others , and creating a healthy living environment . This is includes our annual wellness weekend , monthly keep Movin’ series for physical health , and many collaborative events throughout the year . We also offer solace and safety keychains , and an apparel line .

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?

The majority of the items we sale are hand made . We do have vendors for key chain accessories and blank T-shirts . However , we like to be able to personalize each item , so that each costumer feels special . Each mental health hoodie , key chain and accessories are all prayed over after each order before being shipped out . We learned that that even though there are other advocates and businesses with the same products , however , the message, passion and love behind each item is what sets us apart .

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

Funding my business was a struggle and a current on going process . I paid out of pocket for all printers , screen prints , heat press and other items to get me started . After that , I was able to manage to get a credit card with a low amount . It wasn’t much , but every little bit counts . All profits are out right back into the business . I am currently research small business loans and grants to be able to eventually have an event space to host the events hosted throughout the year .
