We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Smith- Paul recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Often the greatest growth and the biggest wins come right after a defeat. Other times the failure serves as a lesson that’s helpful later in your journey. We’d appreciate if you could open up about a time you’ve failed.
I believe my biggest failure has been not listening to my intuition, wants and desires on what I wanted to do with my life. I’ve always had a secret passion for writing and interior design, but I never knew that you could actually make a living doing those things. I suppose this assumption was derived from not knowing anyone personally who has done it. So in college I took the safe route and majored in healthcare administration. Not only did I do this once but I also did it twice by getting a Masters degree in it. Only to end up in an occupation that didn’t require neither! Lol. However, in hind sight I suppose this wasn’t a “failure” but more so a lesson. On this journey I have learned many valuable lessons on self discovery. And my biggest self discovery was realizing what I really wanted to create in my life and having the courage to do so.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Tiffany Smith- Paul and I currently reside in Dallas Texas. I have been married to my boo, Mr. Paul, for 5 years now and I have a daughter that is 4 going on 14. Since I can remember I have always had a passion for home decor and DIYs. So within the last 6 months, I decided to combine my love for the two and add them to my existing blog. On my social media platforms, thecuratedvybe, I show people how to transform a space on a budget. Many of my home decor tips and DIYs allow my followers to not only transform their space but also recreate an existing space into something new. Along side my passion for interior I also provide monthly blogs on inspiration, self discovery and conscious living. I felt that it was important for me to continue to incorporate these type of teachings, to my readers, because no matter what path you are on it is important to keep your cup full. I believe what sets me apart from other bloggers is my ability to not only show people how to reinvent a dull space and bring it to life but to assist people on their own journey of self discovery and creation. What I am most proud of is the courage I have cultivated within myself to create this brand at 29th&Vibe. When my current clients, followers and readers come to 29thandVibe I want them all to leave this space with a feeling of inspiration and hope. Inspired to create a home that they feel good walking into, and hopeful that no matter what this journey brings there is always a reason to believe.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the simple ability to create! It is so rewarding being able to create a vision of what I want a room or decor piece to look like, and having the ability to manifest that vision into reality. Being able to bring this gift to the world is hands down the most rewarding feeling ever.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn is to stop listening to the opinions of others and using those opinions to create my life. I use to be a huge people pleaser and I would always betray my own wants and needs at the expense of others. Today, I’ve learned to trust my own intuition and what feels true to me.
