We recently connected with Tiffany Rothe and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tiffany thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
One of the hardest things for me, as an entrepreneur, is to keep going when I feel stuck. It’s really hard to focus on building your business when you have limited financial resources and a hazy vision . It’s challenging to pump yourself up, when you feel deflated. Being a successful entrepreneur always begins with constantly evolving into the best version of yourself.
This summer I almost did not plan my annual retreat because I was feeling stuck, overwhelmed and confused. These emotions led to procrastination, which is the father of self doubt. You see, I waited until the last minute to promote the retreat. I was demotivated because I could not find the ideal location, I did not feel like “selling” the retreat and I almost gave up and decided not to do it. Yet, I had a client named Hemma, who lives halfway across the world in Singapore. She had paid in full for the retreat in 2020 right before the pandemic shut down, I told her I would honor her credit at any time, and this year she was ready to go!
She kept writing to me for details and dates of the retreat and I sat at my computer feeling stumped because I did not have any answers. Then I remembered the most important thing about being an entrepreneur…. my business is just not about me… it’s about serving my clients. I knew I needed to shift my energy and my mindset so I can serve my clients, namely Hemma.
The thought of hugging Hemma when she arrived at the retreat, gave me the motivation to get in committed action to bring this retreat to life. Once I took the first steps, something amazing happened. I contacted a hotel in the Dominican Republic and the Hotel Manager, Elizabeth, was a “RotheStar” ( a fan and follower of my workouts on the Tiffany Rothe Workouts YouTube Channel). There was an instant connection. That connection gave me the energy and the validation to move past scarcity and fear of the unknown. As a result we planned the most amazing retreat ever!
I am so happy that I did not allow myself to stay stuck. I am grateful that I remembered that my clients are the soul of my business. I also recognized that when I step up personally and keep going, my work positively impacts on people all over the world.
Being a small business owner is not easy, yet the rewards of changing people’s lives for the better, makes it incredibly worth it. It begins with me continuing to evolve personally, so that I can serve my clients professionally.
Many people glamorize being an entrepreneur because you are your own boss, you set the schedule and you make the rules. What people may not realize is that the flip side of this coin is being able to tolerate high risk, willingness to fail, and an abundant amount of self motivation stored up for rainy days. I have often dreamt of what it would be like to go to a job each day, get a salary, paid vacation, and to be able to leave my work at the office when the day is done.
Instead, I choose the road less travelled. I remember when I started my online, the “Tiffany Rothe Fit Club” I was clueless about technology or running a business online, I barely even checked my email! Yet, my vision was to serve, to help people live Fit, Fierce and Fabulous lives. I was a trailblazer with a vision. It was me, my dream, and the unknown. 11 years later the “TRFC” is helping thousands of people get in shape every day.
There have been times when I wanted to give up, when business is slow, the economy is down or when I focus on there being too much competition. Now I know when things get tough… it’s not about the economy, the team you have or don’t have, or even the capital in the business…. it’s my mindset. I teach people TRAIN their Mind, WORK their Body and LIFT their Spirit. But first, I get to do this for myself everyday. This means that I get to be innovative with technology, accountable to my goals, rigorous with my schedule and dedicated to excellent service so my clients can continuously get results.
But what I love most, is the human side of my business, getting to know my clients’ hopes and dreams for their lives. In a world that is immersed in technology, I still value “one on one” human connection; which is why I offer “in person” retreats and VIP days. There is so much value in truly getting to know my clients. We are all the same, I need them as much as they need me. Life is so much better when we do it together.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
1. How I got into the business-
When I was 17 years old I looked at my body in the mirror and I was not happy with the reflection. I saw an ad on TV about a gym and I made a spontaneous decision and joined that day… I remember that I lied and said I was 18,lol. I was so inspired by my fitness instructor that I came to her class every day. She showed up, gave her best and inspired people. I knew then, I wanted to do that too. I got a job teaching with her and we eventually ran the entire gym together. I got started because I had an inspiring human by my side when I was ready to make a change in my life.
Eventually, I opened my own studio called “Center 8 Studio” in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It was a dream to create a community of ‘Badass women” who leveled up their lives and their families lives. People started visiting the studio from all over the world. They wanted to know how to continue to do my workouts when they got home, so I put them on Youtube. I created 10 minute workouts, because everyone has 10 minutes. The rest is history, my YouTube channel “Tiffany Rothe Workouts” has had over 250 million views and has 925,000 subscribers. https://www.youtube.com/
Soon my YouTube followers were asking for more. They wanted longer workouts, food plans and a more structured way to reach their goals. They wanted guidance on healthy eating and they wanted more accountability. So I created the “Tiffany Rothe Fit Club”. It provides healthy and delicious monthly food plans, customizable workouts, mindset and inspirational coaching, connection and accountability.
Fitness is a self love journey. It’s not just about just improving the way your body looks, it’s about loving yourself enough to take care of the body you have. Fitness is the heartbeat of Self Care. Don’t you always take care of the things and people you love? Our motto in the Tiffany Rothe Fit Club (TRFC) is “The TRFC.club is the place to be, to get the body you love”. The person you get to love first, is you.
In 2020, my 18 year marriage fell apart. I separated from my husband, moved to a new city and my life was upside down. It was very unexpected…. I had to support myself, our girls, and maintain and level up.my business. I felt like I was drowning until I enrolled in several personal development and leadership courses that improved my life forever…mentally, emotionally and spiritually. When I studied Transformational Leadership it literally changed my life.
My business expanded, I moved into a beautiful home. I thrived as a single mom, I tripled my business income. It created such a monumental shift in me that I do what I always have done. When something works for me, I want to give back so others can get the same benefit so I became a Transformational Leadership Coach and launched a new course called the “Mindset Makeover Academy”. I teach people how to break the habit of being stuck in mediocrity, how to navigate self doubt, reframe limiting beliefs and live life with joy and purpose. My students literally go from being victims to circumstances, to the becoming successful CEO of their lives.
In the Mindset Makeover Academy you Re-Wire your thoughts, Re-Model your Beliefs and Re-Design your mind so you can up-level your life.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I was in business for 8 years and although it had a good start, I was at a stalemate, The competition had increased and I was feeling left behind, I had tried so many things with no luck, I was stuck. I was married at the time and I remember having a discussion with my husband about my goals and he scoffed under his breath. I was really hurt, although he had supported me a lot throughout the years, I sensed he was weary of my series of goals yet to be attained. I blamed him for holding me back. In hindsight my sadness over being stuck was not about him, the truth was, I’d stop believing in myself.
About 6 months later, we separated. It was a very painful time. All of a sudden I found myself in a new city, with no friends, family or support system. It was me, my daughters and my dreams. My sister Cedra and nephew Carl from LA invested in my company, at a time when my personal life was completely upside down. I literally was unsure of how I was going to pay the rent each month. Plus, the world was in a pandemic, it was crazy.
Yet each month I got better and better, each month I got closer to God and I was shown how faith presides over fear. Each month, I invested in my mindset, because there was no one to blame, to hold me back or to laugh under their breath. If it was meant to be, it was up to me.
Each day, it was the stuck version of me who needed approval, who blamed others, who didn’t believe in herself -vs -the Boss me, the CEO who had non-negotiable goals, a strategy to level up, faith, total responsibility. and courage. The CEO won.
The only thing that changed was my mindset. Every problem I encountered I looked within to solve, I learned to trust in things unseen. I showed up. I went live on Youtube 6 days a week for 9 months during the pandemic and only made about $350 a month doing it.
It did not matter, I remembered who I am, I am a Powerful, Connected, Inspiring Leader who is here to serve. I realized that my business is not about me, it’s about the people I uplift. I focused out, while I grew within.
Today, I am thriving. I still have doubts and fears at times, yet they are not running my mindset. I believe in myself, my faith tells my fear to take out the trash, When my doubt gets loud, my courage shows her the door.
Today, I lean on my mindset to create my reality. My positive thoughts are writing my autobiography and my faith is designing my destiny.

How did you build your audience on social media?
People buy from you not when they understand you, but when they feel you understand them, Social media is a great way to reach people with your message but there are a few things you get to do first:
1. Know who your ideal customer is. I have been an instructor and trainer for many years and I love training men and women. Yet when it comes to a class structure most of my clients are women, so I decided to direct my content towards women. I wrote out a description of who my ideal client is on social media and I just simply direct my messages towards her.
2. Build trust through authenticity and consistency. Think about going to a new place, meeting a new group or traveling alone. It’s always easier if someone “you know” is going to or someone “you trust” has referred you. When your clients know and trust you, it makes it easier for them to buy from you. Social media is a great way to let your potential clients get to know who you are and what you stand for.
3. Ask for their business- You get to be clear about what you are offering people. People follow you to make their lives better. Let people know exactly what you offer and how it will help them improve.
When I started on social media, I had no idea about any of this, I just posted some videos. Today, I recommend that you understand who your ideal customer is, know how you can serve them, build trust through authenticity and don’t be afraid to ask for the sale. And whatever you offer, continuously work on self improvement, so you know that you are worth it. Constantly level up your mindset and your service and your business will soar.
