We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Pegula recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, appreciate you joining us today. If you’re open to it, can you talk to us about the best (or worst) investment you’ve made. What’s the backstory and the relevant context behind why you made the investment
Starting out as an assistant in Studio City at 22, I felt like an outsider being the sole Black girl in a salon dominated by the white elite. Raised by a single mom, I had only a high school diploma and was the eldest of three siblings. However, it wasn’t the allure of the beauty industry that drew me in; it was my desire to connect and uplift others! Working in the salon, I uncovered my distinctiveness and recognized the special gift I possessed.
While working as an assistant, a memorable moment stands out when I shared my far fetched dream of owning a home with a client while finishing up her blowout. Growing up, property ownership symbolized success to me, it meant “you made it”. She suggested that after I finished up her hair, that I should head across the street to Washington Mutual and open a savings account to start saving for my future house!
I have to say, that one of the most fulfilling journeys of my life was purchasing my first home in my early twenties. As a mother of two beautiful daughters in so happy to able to pass on generational wealth. From my first purchase, I have since expanded my investments, acquiring several more houses and even a property on the beach (I still pinch myself about this). Coming from Inglewood, California, achieving these dreams felt like reaching for the stars, but I’m incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of my family, clients, and friends who cheered and rooted me on every step of the way. I always wanted my family to be proud of me and their encouragement and belief in me made all the difference in turning my aspirations into reality, and for that, I’ll always be profoundly grateful.
I am forever thankful and overwhelmed with gratitude,
Xo,
Tiffany

Tiffany, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As a hairstylist turned entrepreneur, I wear many hats! Running a family daycare with my mom, owning a hair care line BleuLunaHair, volunteering at Valley Family Center, and interning at Food on Foot. Despite the busy schedule, I still cherish my days in the salon, where it all began. I’m also proud to be receiving my bachelor degree at Cal State Northridge, where I am majoring in communications. I’m also focused on mentoring hairstylists to work smarter, not harder. With two adopted daughters, I’m determined to show them that adversity can’t limit your dreams. My journey is all about helping others and spreading love, light and positivity!

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
On social media, I’m all about letting my personality shine! From laughter to creativity, travel adventures to precious moments with my kids and partner, I’m all in. My platform isn’t just about attracting new clients; it’s about keeping my tribe engaged. They see the real me – passionate, driven, and all about making people look and feel incredible. Whether it’s a fun hair transformation or a glimpse into my everyday life, it’s all about spreading joy and positivity!

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
My clients and I? We’re one and the same and I’m proud of that!
In my salon, it’s about fostering a space where they can truly be themselves.
Whether they need a shoulder to laugh or cry on, I’ve got them covered with tissues and a comforting vibe.
Beyond hairstyling, I’m their friend in always there to listen and support!
I’ve learned to become and excellent listener and I have a niche for remembering the little things they share, I make sure they know I’m there for them, creating a bond that goes beyond the chair.
It’s all about nurturing that special connection, ensuring they feel understood, supported, and valued every time they walk through the door!
