Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tiffany Napper. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Tiffany, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
For years – and I mean nearly 5 of them – I had deflected the notion that I could be a business coach. It was a notion shared by two of my very own coaches, but I just didn’t think I wanted to do that or that I had the knowledge required. I was still learning how to streamline my own PR + Branding agency. I wasn’t ready to teach anyone anything!
Fast forward to March 2020 – a date I think we all know too well as the marker for the Covid-19 shut down across the world. I was a founding member of a co-working space for women in Nashville, TN, and the owner asked me to lead an online workshop as a way to keep the community feeling united while we were all stuck at home. And since teaching about PR and branding didn’t feel very relevant at the time, I decided to teach the other thing I had become quite good at – how to build the systems and develop the mindset needed to create an unshakable business.
The workshop was a hit, and I was asked to lead it again and again. I think I led that workshop 5 times in one week. By the end, I couldn’t ignore the calling. I was ready to lead and coach other business owners, and thus the Upleveler Society and my first group coaching program were born!
Tiffany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I help creative, female entrepreneurs take deep breaths and make more money. But for the first 10 years of my career, I was in the corporate world, and I had a pretty sweet gig. Back in 2010, I was traveling the world running PR for Yamaha artist relations and working with international stars including John Legend, Elton John, and Alicia Keys.
Eventually, I was faced with a deep desire to spread my wings, so in January of 2011, I launched my self-titled agency. That also kicked off my first ride on the entrepreneurial rollercoaster. I learned a bunch of hard lessons as the agency grew, but eventually with some expert coaches and mentors, I built a lean, mean, impressive machine that granted me the freedom and flexibility I had so deeply desired during my corporate days.
With my agency, we worked with Marc Cohn, Grandmaster Flash, Signia, and Live Nation, to name a few. We landed clients on the covers of national magazines and on morning shows from coast to coast; we launched international social media campaigns and kicked off experiential marketing campaigns before we even knew that was a term.
But ultimately, no job has felt more right than the one I primarily do now: coaching and consulting other creative businesswomen. I love helping women build sustainable empires that bring them more abundance and more joy.
I started coaching women in 2019 and I launched my first group coaching program in 2020.
In 2021, I launched the Upleveler Society, a high-vibe membership for creatives who are craving community and ongoing education. Uplevelers gain confidence, increase sales, launch new programs, hire one another, and collaborate to expand their brand awareness. Not only that, but Uplevelers report having a greater sense of peace and treating themselves with more compassion because they know their value.
I offer 1:1 consulting and coaching for six-figure entrepreneurs who are ready for more through tested and proven 3-hour, 30-day and 3-month programs known as the Ignite, Expansion, and Thrive program. My clients have earned five-figure returns after just 8 weeks, set up passive revenue streams that bring in recurring four-figure months, and doubled their annual revenue!
And once a year, I host a magical retreat, where we blend work and wellness and fill your cup. It’s the most luxurious, inspirational, and motivational retreat you never knew existed. Leave fully awakened, ready to step into the next version of yourself, and with deepened friendships that go beyond business.
Some business coaches will only talk strategy or numbers. But a six or seven-figure business with a healthy profit margin that drains the life out of you isn’t the goal. You deserve to make bank and feel more balanced. I care about your health and well-being just as much as I care about the balance on your spreadsheet.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started my social media account many moons ago with nothing but some bad Hipstamatic photos of my personal life.
Eventually, I started sharing my personal growth story and my journey with yoga, and that led to some influencer partnerships and the first real surge in my following. I was weaving in some business-related content here and there, but my Instagram account certainly didn’t become what it is today overnight. It’s been a journey! Bit by bit, story by story, lesson by lesson, I’ve managed to grow a beautiful following of fellow creative businesswomen.
My biggest piece of advice is not to be afraid to pivot and experiment. But once you know your offering and who you want to help, stay in your lane. Consistency is key.
Share what you know, stay curious, and it sounds cliche these days, but be authentic. Social media is simply an outlet for interpersonal exchanges, so if you stay focused on the 5, 50, or 50,000 people engaging and you continue to give them value in the form of education, inspiration, or entertainment, you’ll be on the right track.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the notion that I am not good with numbers. I have a journalism degree and I always identified as a creative. I loved English more than math – that was never in question. But not liking something and being bad at it are two very different things. (Also, I learned how to make a spreadsheet actually look pretty, which makes it more fun to open!) In 2017, I did some deep healing around my money mindset, and I realized as long as I believed I was bad at math, I would always lack confidence as a business owner. I started “playing with the numbers,” and now it is one of my very favorite things to teach my clients. Numbers are just data, and they can be so much fun when you realize that you hold all the power.
