We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Morris recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today
If I could start over my process with building my business, I would definitely take the time to learn more about marketing and advertising as a whole. I would take numerous business courses and read books more than anything, and develop my knowledge, rather than just jumping into it and creating an Instagram page with a bunch of graphics, when I had no idea what I was really doing.

Tiffany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am most proud of creating something that I haven’t seen before. Anytime I see a great idea, I know that it’s something something unique when it makes me think, “Wow! I don’t know if I would’ve thought of that!” I really allow myself to be myself through my brand and to let it highlight who I am as a person with everything down to the names of my items and the puns and the wittiness. I feel my brain has so much further to go, and there is so much more coming for it to prosper, and I can’t wait!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn balance between real life and social media. I think often times we get so wrapped up and watching someone else’s success, and how well they do, and how much their prospering simply from our screens, without even knowing their story for real. And in the midst of all of this, it affects us, and how we view ourselves and what we are putting out and what we can do, and it makes us feel like our capabilities are diminished in a sense. I really had to unlearn comparison and competition and just focus on what I had to offer and do the best that I can do.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Yes, I actually landed a job outside of my home state, New York. So now I’m currently living in Chicago and I had to up and leave within two months of getting hired and now I’m building a new life out here and while it somewhat looks like home in certain areas, it doesn’t feel like home just yet, so I’m growing and I’m learning and I am Getting to know more about me and enjoying a new setting. I also had to put a pause on my brand, but I am certainly getting back to it soon!
