We recently connected with Tiffany Marsh and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I’ve been singing since I could talk so music has always been a passion of mine. From a child where I sung in the church choirs to becoming of age and singing at private events, being a soloist was never unfamiliar territory for me. I love to sing!! But… I didn’t pursue it. I was however, afforded the opportunity to be invited to sing at a few events in Berlin, Germany back in Nov 2018. This experience totally blew my mind because here I am a foreigner singing about love in a club who’s name I could barely pronounce. The crowd received me with so much love they wanted me to sing the entire night. LOL From then I started writing music after being influenced by my own personal heartbreak and convinced by friends to put snippets on social media. After a lot of procrastination on my end, I started to release snippets of original songs on Tik Tok and Instagram that quickly went viral. The flood of comments and shares really opened my eyes up to the idea of sharing what I thought was only going to be personal experiences, on a broader scale. The passion for music was already well established within me however, the outpour of love and support made me want to take my craft more serious and to the next level!
Tiffany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m TMarsh, an independent singer, songwriter, and performer. I started out going viral on platforms like TikTok when I released snippets of original music. Using an app called Voisey, I wrote snippets that later turned into full songs and later an album. With a ton of support and push, those original songs have gotten over 1.3 million streams in a year span and over 54K followers on TikTok.
Outside of work in the studio as a creative, I’ve also been privileged to do live shows where I connect the most with my supporters. On stage I’m able to tap into full artist mode and give everything I have while being fueled by the energy the crowd brings.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
When people from all walks of life love and relate to my music, it brings me pure joy. To look out and see people singing my songs has got to be the most rewarding and fulfilling thing ever for an artist. Especially an independent artist – it means the world. Being able to share my gift and receive so much positivity and encouragement back will make any artist push, even on the worse days. The story makes for better passion and being able to hear the emotions I feel in song form, is gratifying.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I want to make it. It’s simple. I want to be able to leave a memorable legacy and life for my family when I leave this earth. I want to touch the world with my music and be able to look back at the journey and see where never giving up on self took me. The goal is to thank God and my parents from the Grammy’s stage.
