We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tiffany Lyn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I always had an artistic flare, a way with words that could draw people in. When I was younger, the words danced on pages creating poetic moments. And with time the words evolved into stories, some of my own and others of the imagination. More recently I’ve given an audible voice to my words as a means to inspire and encourage. The gift, or passion if you will, has always been there. However, this past year revealed to me the importance of making a shift. I lost someone very dear to me unexpectedly. My mom was a huge source of inspiration, a writer and a speaker herself. I’m sure that there was so much more to be written and said, that now never will. It was in this season that I realized I wanted to make sure no word was left unsaid and no paragraph remained unwritten. And though I’ve been a business owner and author for many years, I wanted to go deeper in the way I served and operated in my creative space. My calling is to help others pursue purpose and esteem them in that journey. And that’s what I’m excited about and committed to doing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am Tiffany Lyn – writer, speaker, apparel line owner and designer. For me, the journey started almost twenty years ago when I wrote and published my first book. I was a junior in college, a business major at that. Yet, I found myself wanting to create stories, share stories, and also learn about the stories of others. From one life to the next and one story to another there is a common theme of challenges, wins and losses. However, how those challenges are faced, wins celebrated and losses handled can greatly impact the storyline. I began to think about and explore how we can learn from various stories that have similar themes, yet different narratives.
My very first book was fiction, a story about a young woman who experienced childhood trauma and found herself trying to navigate life and relationships while still dredging through the pain of her past. The main character was on a journey of discovery. Who was she? What defined her? Those were great questions that I sought to address in my next book, a nonfiction work about identity. The two pieces were completely unrelated but both uncovered the need for one to understand the questions: who am I at the core and what am I here for?
It was after the second book that I homed in on my passion in life: to esteem people to obtain vision, pursue purpose, and become their best selves. And with this at the forefront of my mind, I began to write more, blog, create a motivational apparel line, and as of late, host a podcast.
Sharing with others brings me great joy! And it is absolutely beautiful to see one storyline feed into the next and serve as a catalyst for change, beacon of home, or springboard into a destiny decision.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Having the ability to create a work that can inspire or encourage someone that I may not otherwise have the opportunity to meet is an amazing honor. Long after my days, the books written, journals created, podcasts recorded will still be here for whomever may find or need them.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Legacy! I wholeheartedly believe in leave something for those that proceed you. My life’s goals, faith lived out, and values displayed should be evident in the works that I create. Is someone’s life being made better or easier? Are conversations being had? Are hearts being touched? I hope the answer to these questions is yes because that’s the reason for this journey, to make an positive impact now, as well as one in the future for both my children and community.
