Tiffany , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
In October my partner and I launched Nosybystanderstv on Roku. Months before we had to gather talent for the channel, which is depending on others to contribute content to the channel, and we still had to maintain our own social media platforms to promote the channel. We have 20 creators that make content, so it is a huge undertaking. Also, the success or failure of the channel depends solely on the us. It’s a HUGE risk.
Tiffany , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
In 2020 I was bored so I started a TikTok account. I really thought people just recreate movies and dance so that’s what I did, one day I ran across a video of a TikTok creator speaking so passionately about Breonna Taylor. That’s when I decided to start speaking. I began sharing news and educating on topics related to the 2020 election. I gained a major following as Doubledeemuva with the Blaqurate news, where I’m black, the news may be petty as hell but it’s accurate. I now have over a half a million followers across all social media platforms that depend on me to share news. I also have a podcast The real tea with Double and of course the Roku channel Nosybystanderstv. I also sell petty merch on blaquratenews.com.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My only advice is to find a niche, stick to it and keep posting. Create content that you enjoy. Listen to your audience!

Tiktok! You can reach thousands of people within minutes if you get into the algorithm
