We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tiffany Jones a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
Legacy Photography began with a vision I shared with my mentor: to create something lasting, something meaningful- a legacy. For me, photography is not just about images; it’s about connection, authenticity, and preserving stories that matter.
I know that for many people, having their photo taken can feel intimidating. That is why I approach every session with care, patience, and creativity, ensuring that my clients feel comfortable and confident. When people feel relaxed, their genuine selves shine through- and that’s when the most powerful images are created.
What started as a small dream five years ago has now become my full-time career, one that I am deeply grateful for. Each day, I am honored to help families, businesses, and individuals preserve their stories through photographs that will be cherished for generations to come.

Tiffany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I earned my degree in Studio Art at Roanoke College in Virginia, where I fell in love with art. That passion led me to an internship with a local commercial photography company, which quickly grew into a career I deeply valued. I was fortunate to apprentice under the talented owners of that company for many years, gaining knowledge, experience, and inspiration that shaped me both as an artist and as a professional.
With their guidance, along with the support of my family, friends, and my own drive to succeed, I eventually launched Legacy Photography. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside brilliant creatives- experiences that have enriched my craft and strengthened my vision. I am truly blessed to do what I love every day: capturing stories, preserving memories, and creating legacies through photography.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Over many years, I saved diligently from my paychecks, investing in camera equipment I knew I would one day need. By the time I launched Legacy Photography, I had built a complete set of tools to bring my vision to life. Every piece of equipment represents more than just functionality- it reflects years of admiration for the craft, careful planning, and a labor of love that made my dream possible.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I began Legacy Photography at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic- a time that was challenging for the world and especially for small businesses. Despite the uncertainty and chaos, I was determined to bring my vision to life. Through perseverance, passion, dedication, and a lot of creativity, I was able to build a business that not only survived, but thrived during one of the most difficult time in recent history.
