Alright, Tiffany thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
When my business partner Chelsea McGrew and I met each other in the Spring of 2021, we quickly bonded over our love of crystals and how they helped us navigate our day to day life. While we both love our day jobs, we wanted to build something to call our own. We had joked many times about opening a crystal shop; a dream we have both had for a long time. Finally one day we got together over a beer and decided we were going to give it a go. We agreed on the name, registered with the Secretary of State and started our journey into the crystal world. Our mission is to offer quality crystals at a reasonable price. Our hope is to educate people on how crystals can enhance their life and we encourage individuals to seek out their own crystal journey. We strive to create an all inclusive crystal community. Whether it be someone with an extensive collection, someone who just bought their first Amethyst cluster or someone who appreciates all things shiny, we want everyone to feel welcome. Each crystal journey is unique and we love to get to be a part of that. It has been a slow start, as is the case with most new small businesses, but we believe in our mission to enrich people’s lives and leave a little pixie sparkle everywhere we go.
Tiffany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For as long as we can remember, Chelsea and I have had a deep fascination with crystals. We are both Earth signs, so it’s only natural we are drawn to Earth’s gifts. We both carry crystals with us everywhere we go and would even compare which crystals we had with us that day. Chelsea and I have quite a collection between the two of us. Chelsea is drawn to otherworldly crystals, such as Moldavite. Tiffany is drawn to the whimsy with her current favorite being Moss Agate. Tiffany’s aunt affectionately refers to her as her little Pixie. Chelsea has felt a strong pull to what lies beyond this planet, guided by the moon. This is how Pixie Moon Crystals was born. We offer a variety of stones and shapes to suit each person’s need on their crystal journey. A current favorite in the shop is our Moss Agate Towers and Lepidolite with Smoky Quartz spheres. We understand that there are a lot of crystal shops out there to choose from, but what we are striving to build is more than another rock shop. We are building a community where all are welcome and loved. A safe place for people to get to know what crystals are out there and how they can help enhance their life. We are the most proud of the fact that we are staying true to who we are. While we may still be on our journey to figuring that out, that’s really what it’s all about. Figuring out life’s twists and turns with a little help from the “rocks” in our pocket.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
Chelsea and I met in the Spring of 2021 at work. Over the next year and a half, we became great friends. Our friendship really blossomed over our mutual love of crystals and now we refer to ourselves as crystal sisters.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Chelsea and I funded the business with our own savings. We have not had any outside investors or financial help. Everything we have paid for from supplies, to inventory and much more, it has all come out of our own savings. We look to it as our investment into ourselves, allowing us to have a say in our future.
