We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tiffany Hill a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tiffany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My mission is to live a life of purpose with no fear. In doing this, being able to educate through beauty, fashion, health and wellness.

The story behind the mission started as a child having two big dreams. One to be a Fashion Designer living in NYC and the other to be a 1st grade teacher. Two completely different ends of the spectrum but I wanted both.

Throughout my childhood, I “cancelled” out my dream of being a designer. My reasoning being that the industry was too competitive and I wouldn’t make it (my internal fear). I opted for teaching because I absolutely love kids and working with them came natural to me. Leading me to pursue elementary education at the start of my college education. Fast forward, there was a nudge I felt about my fashion dream that wouldn’t go away. The nudges grew louder as people would always say to me, “You look like a model, do you model?” “I love your style, what do you do?” “You’re beautiful and tall, have you thought about modeling?” I would hear one of these phrases almost everyday. To the point where I really sat down and thought to myself, “Am I really going to throw my love for fashion away?” and this is where it all started.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Hey y’all! My name is Tiffany Hill of T.LASHAÉ LLC. I am a creative in many forms. I am a Model, Fashion Expert and Creator. “You weren’t made to fit in, you were made to stand out.” A quote that I heard all the time throughout my adolescent years. A reminder that I want to share with all of you! Someone is waiting to hear your story, someone is waiting to listen to your podcast, someone is waiting to showcase your art and someone is waiting to read your book. Whatever it is that you bring to the table bring it with passion, love, and a sincere heart. This is what I want my community and potential clients to know about T.LASHAÉ. How did you build your audience on social media?

As we all know social media is huge. Pretty much everyone is on it. We tend to see the good, bad, and ugly every single day on these platforms. My first piece of advice to anyone looking to build a social media presence is to really ask yourself, “What is my purpose?” For me, my purpose for building a presence was to create community. I am a really big advocate when it comes to community and showing up authentically. I wanted to create a space where other beautiful human beings could do just that.

My second piece of advice, is to create the community YOU desire then those who are in alignment with come without having to search. What I mean by this is that I started building my social media by sharing the things that I LOVED (My Modeling Diary, My Funky Outfit of The Days, Beauty Tips, and My Health/Wellness Journey) not what someone’s sister, brother or auntie loved. Share what you truly love and are passionate about because at that very moment a community of like minded people will begin to develop.

My third piece of advice is to remain true to who you are. You are special and there is no one like you! Embrace that! We have too many people trying to look and do what the next person is doing. Stay focused in YOUR lane and watch how your story will unfold. Guess what?! Some people will want to be apart just because of who you are!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Yes, absolutely! I believe that we were all placed on this earth for a reason (our individual missions) and we were created to complete that mission. This perspective is the very thing that drives my creative journey. Every day isn’t going to be a good day so when I experience a creative rut, I allow myself to feel, process and then I take action knowing the importance behind my story. My journey is not only meant to mold me into being exactly who I am supposed to be but it is meant to help encourage, motivate, and speak to others as well.
