We recently connected with Tiffany Harris and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I believe there are a number of things that matter in order to be successful, but most importantly passion. We all want to be compensated and/or acknowledged for the work we do, but when those things are removed, is the tenacity to reach your goals still there.
I’ve always felt that if I was passionate about the work I was doing the tough times wouldn’t seem so tough and achieving success would be much more rewarding.
Tiffany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
1. How you got into your industry / business
Initially, I got into real estate for my own personal investments. I wanted to understand the process and contract documents. My very first clients were referred by a high school friend, and after assisting them, I fell in love with the process and being a part of such a major life decision.
2. What problems you solve for your clients
Offering a high level of customer service while assisting clients in meeting their real estate goals. The joy and sense of accomplishment that clients feel on settlement day is such a pleasantry. From the moment clients walk into our doors, whether purchasing a $100,000 house or a $1,000,000 house, each client receives a true experience.
3. What you think sets you apart from others.
What makes me different as a Real Estate Broker is my genuine care and passion for my agents. In an industry that can often be isolating, Harris Hawkins & Co fosters a culture of collaboration over competition. We believe that working together achieves more. Even though I’m in a leadership position, I see my agents as family, creating a supportive and close-knit team.
4. What are you most proud of and what are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you/your brand/your work/ etc.
I’m a proud mom of a 19-year-old son, and I must say I’m incredibly proud of the man he’s becoming. The next big step for him is buying his first property, probably a multi-unit where he plans to live in one unit and rent out the others. Seeing him grasp the concept of generational wealth and building it through real estate fills me with immense pride.
5. What are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you/your brand/your work/ etc.
Creating a safe and supportive environment for agents like us to flourish and become the best versions of themselves was a top priority for us. We aim to be the kind of support that we wished we had when we initially entered the business. I take pride in curating unique experiences for every client, regardless of the price point.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Brandi Hawkins and I were affiliated with the same Brokerage and when we left that Brokerage for a larger brand, we ended up making the same move. I was still dual-career at the time, working for the Howard County Housing Commission as an Asset Manager. I decided on my 35th birthday that I would resign from that career to pursue Real Estate full-time. At that stage in my career, I had mostly assisted Buyers and to help my sales numbers with Sellers, Brandi allowed me to co-list on all of her listings. While this had no monetary benefit, I was beyond grateful and this is how The “Lister Sisters” were born. We began to work together in a partnership capacity and the rest is history. It was actually Brandi’s husband, Chris, who suggested we officially start a team.
