Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tiffany Davis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tiffany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
As a registered nurse living with endometriosis, I have been a patient in and also worked within the healthcare system. My experiences while dealing with endometriosis and fertility challenges (which include 2 failed assisted-fertility attempts) led me to find holistic ways to heal myself. This included acupuncture, pelvic therapy and massage, condition-specific diet and workout modifications, and Chinese Herbal Medicine. My 15-month recovery from COVID led me to start using more essential oils and herbal supplements. I wanted to tap into my duality and use my gifts as a nurse and a holistic practitioner to heal other women. From these and many other experiences, my business, Channeling Qi Health & Wellness, was birthed. I have experienced a lot of what my clients face, so it makes me empathetic and relatable. For the fellas who may be reading and/or wondering, my mission has expanded to serving you as well!
Tiffany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As you said, my name is Tiffany Davis, MSN, RN-BC, CPEN, CPN and I have 16 years’ experience as a Registered nurse, a master’s degree in Nursing Informatics, and three board certifications. I am passionate about providing education, awareness, and organic products to help people set and work towards their holistic health goals. Because of my experiences with endometriosis and long-COVID, I looked for and found healing in holistic therapies. It wasn’t until I found relief that I knew I had to share my story and the amazing benefits of holistic medicine.
As a certified Reiki Practitioner, Meditation Facilitator, and Holistic Health and Wellness Healer, I use these and other modalities to support women facing menstrual and/or fertility challenges as well as individuals. groups, or families seeking relief from the ill effects of stress and chronic conditions. My support extends beyond the services provided because I accent these services with self-made organic products that aid the healing experience.
As clients improve their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being, their lives will ultimately improve in most, if not all, areas. If consistent, this practice can relieve the body of stress and shift the mindset to manifest and achieve divinely-aligned desires.
The ultimate goal is to help others achieve lives of joy, abundance, and love by empowering them to create success in every area of life through holistic practices.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Being a health and wellness brand, specifically a holistic one, there are things that you will have to do differently; things that may work for other businesses may not work for yours. Most people will buy into vanity without question (I’m guilty of this too). In my experience, selling someone a candle or lotion that smells good is much easier. They can see themselves relaxing with the candle or feeling luxurious when they put on the particular lotion. But if you try to sell them something that they have to buy and wait for results, it’s a harder sell.
I make organic products to relieve stress, aches, and pains. It got to a point where doing festivals, popup shops, and events just wasn’t worth my time and effort. It took many unsuccessful events and wasted money for me to not only, get my own voice as an entrepreneur, but USE it as well. I finally found my assertive voice as an entrepreneur and started respectfully declining opportunities or giving people a firm “thank you so much, but that no longer aligns with my brand”.
My mission, vision, and purpose are my own–no one else has to understand or carry them out, and that’s okay. If your journey, business, and/or purpose, doesn’t resemble anyone else’s, that’s okay. There is no failure in regrouping or going back to the drawing board. However, abandoning purpose, especially without trying other methods, is a failure.
If something is truly a part of your purpose, never give up on it–just re-work it and come at it from a different angle and perspective. After all, the world is waiting for you!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson/mindset I had to unlearn is the idea that you should get a job, work it to the best of your ability–no matter the conditions–then retire. I now call this the “playing it safe and existing, not living” strategy.
In my experience, there are very few employers that truly have your best interest at heart. They care about you as it relates to the collective of their business and the bottom dollar, but very little genuine concern is given to the individual or any life challenges they may be facing. My journey with endometriosis and long-COVID made my former employers show their true colors. These experiences fueled my desire to become a successful entrepreneur so that I can create a life in which I have options–options that afford me the luxury of cutting ties with anyone or anything that does not value me, what I have to offer, or my life challenges.
Being an entrepreneur has not only allowed me to mature my business savvy, but it has allowed me to grow as a person as well.
To the businesses, companies, or organizations that pour into their staff and genuinely support them mentally, emotionally, and physically (when it applies), thank you!!
