Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Connolly.
Tiffany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The idea for my business was born out of necessity. I was a full-time teacher and suddenly found myself a single mom, and unfortunately teaching would not cover my rent and childcare for my 8-month-old daughter. A colleague of mine had a side hustle as a freelance writer, so I started there. Eventually, I started getting more clients and decided to turn “freelance writing” into a full-blown business. So I quit teaching, but the first two years were rough. I had to supplement my income with bartending in the evenings. Five years later, business was booming and I hired my first employees. I soon learned, however, that managing people was not my jam. So I let them, and some clients that didn’t align with my values, go.
Today, I work with nonprofits and businesses that are doing good things for our world. I tell their stories, and I couldn’t be happier about where I’ve landed.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

Through sheer will and determination, I was able to stick with it, and today, my business the sole source of my income. I was motivated to stick with it because I was raising a child and I wanted to be home for her. I also wanted freedom of movement, to travel when I wanted to, and have the option to work remote. Failure was never an option. Bumpy roads created paths to opportunity, rethinking, and new learning.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in telling the stories of the people behind the organizations that are making the world a better place. There is nothing I like better than learning about a person’s drive to help others or the planet, or learning the stories of the people who benefit from them. My clients use these stories in the communications by sharing them with the media and through publications like annual reports, emails, blogs, etc.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I used HubSpot in the beginning to learn about my business, content marketing, and systems and processes. Their videos were invaluable. The book
