We recently connected with Tiffany Cade and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I knew I always wanted to dive into art since pre-K. Every step of my academic journey I made sure to have an art class of some sort. I truly started to learn my crafts in college. I received my Associate degree in art by the end of highschool and went on to the University of Houston-Downtown and received my bachelors’ degree in art, magna cum laude. I studied studio topics in art, figure drawing, graphic design, painting, graphic novel and much more. From there I have been perfecting my crafts and using what I’ve learned in my education in order to make my creations come to life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Tiffany Cade. I am an african american 22-year old who grew up in Texas; born with the passion of the arts. I am a sibling of 3 and the daughter of Craig Cade (Wyzeman) and Elizabeth Cade. From a young age I’ve always loved diving into the arts and learning new crafts along the way. Currently, I am a digital artist, comics illustrator, oil/acrylic painter, clay artist, and traditional artist. Everyday I find myself practicing at least one of my skills each day, whether it be practicing my anatomy, working on my next comic book, or molding armatures for my next clay piece. I believe what sets me apart from others is my work ethic; I never stop trying at a craft until I’ve perfected it and I see a lot of people giving up in the beginning. If you don’t continue at the project you’re working on or give up at the beginning then your mind will start to connect it with muscle memory. Your own body will work against you because it’s so used to giving up but if you push and progress, you’ll be proud of the work you’ve accomplished. I am most proud of creating my own comic series and original characters. I am looking forward to sharing my comic series with the world and finally showing my writing abilities and illustrations. I hope I can build an audience to follow along on my art journey as I make my way to the top of the art industry.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I believe the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the fact that I can put my imagination onto paper or tablet. It’s one thing to have an idea, but to see it actually drawn out is such a blessing and inspiration. It makes me believe in my abilities even more as I am able to create.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I believe a particular goal or mission I have is to honor God with the talents he gave me and make my family proud. I want to make an impact in the world and have Tiffany Cade mean something great. I’ve been doing art for as long as I can remember and I won’t allow myself to retire before my crafts and projects are seen and enjoyed world wide.
