Tiffany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea first came to me when I was a senior in high school. However, I was a shy timid teenager so I decided not to think twice about it. Then when I was a freshmen in college at LIU the idea came to mind again, but I talked myself out of it because I thought who would actually take me serious. However, when COVID came and I wasn’t having the best luck finding a new job, I decided now was the time. So I sat down with my computer, a pen, and notebook and immediately went to work. Within two hours, I had my t-shirt vendor, and a list of 20 different phrases for the shirts.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I launched our Brown Sugar / Brown Sugar & Coffee lip scrubs in February 2022. I thought the product was perfect and everything was fine. My best friend was the first one to purchase both scrubs and when it was delivered to her, she let me know the oil was leaking from the scrub. I felt a little discouraged and thought about giving up. However, I picked myself up and found a different kind of brown sugar and used less oil and now my lip scrubs are a fan favorite.

The best way to keep in touch with clients/customers and foster brand loyalty is to be consistent with social media and email marketing.
