We recently connected with Tiffany Brown and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission behind my initiatives is deeply rooted in a personal journey of self-discovery and empowerment. In 2020, I started the I AM movement with a powerful affirmation: “I am enough.” This affirmation became a transformative force, helping me overcome negative thoughts that surrounded me during my youth.
When I was younger, I faced the loss of my mom. It was during this challenging time that having a mentor played a crucial role in guiding me in the right direction. This personal experience adds a profound layer to my mission, as I understand firsthand the impact of mentorship and support during difficult moments.
Inspired by this journey, I launched the Women Empower Brunch and am in the process of establishing a non-profit for middle school-aged girls. The mission is to give back and provide the kind of support I received. I’ve witnessed firsthand the impact of positive affirmations and support, and it became my mission to share these tools with other women and young girls.
The brunch and non-profit aim to create spaces where women can be inspired, motivated, and uplifted. Focusing on middle school-aged girls is intentional, as it’s a critical age for shaping self-perception. The mission is to teach these girls that they are enough, provide mentorship through the Big Sister Little Sister program, and instill the belief that they can overcome challenges.
This mission is profoundly meaningful to me because it goes beyond a business endeavor. It’s about making a positive impact on the lives of individuals, fostering resilience, and empowering them to embrace their worth. Each event, program, or initiative is a step toward creating a supportive community where everyone can thrive, just as I was guided by a mentor during my own challenging times.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Tiffany T Brown, and my journey has been shaped by a profound commitment to empowerment and positive transformation. In 2020, I initiated the I AM movement with a simple yet powerful affirmation: “I am enough.” This marked the beginning of a personal journey of self-discovery and empowerment, which has become the driving force behind my various initiatives.
Professionally, I curate the Women Empower Brunch, an annual event that has gained momentum each year. This gathering serves as a platform for women to be inspired, motivated, uplifted, and provides a space for networking. The brunch is not just an event; it’s an embodiment of the empowerment mission, encouraging women to embrace their unique narratives and become authors of their own stories.
I am currently in the process of establishing a non-profit tailored for middle school-aged girls. This initiative, which includes the Big Sister Little Sister program, aims to guide young girls in discovering their identity, fostering resilience, and instilling the belief that they are enough.
In addition to these initiatives, I run a photobooth company, adding a creative and interactive element to events. My services extend beyond capturing moments; they contribute to the overall atmosphere, creating memorable experiences.
Moreover, I have an I Am clothing brand that complements the movement, featuring empowering designs. I specialize in creating custom designs that reflect the unique stories and affirmations of individuals.
What sets me apart is the deeply personal connection to my mission. I’ve faced challenges, including the loss of my mom, and it was having a mentor that pushed me in the right direction. This experience fuels my dedication to mentorship and empowerment.
I am most proud of the positive impact my initiatives have on individuals’ lives. My work is not just about events or services; it’s about fostering resilience, empowering individuals, and creating supportive communities. I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that my brand is rooted in authenticity, empathy, and a genuine desire to uplift and inspire. Whether through a brunch, a non-profit, a photobooth, or custom-designed clothing, my goal is to contribute to positive transformation and empowerment.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One pivotal moment that showcases my resilience occurred during a challenging period after the loss of my mother. Coping with the emotional weight of that loss was incredibly difficult, and it tested my ability to navigate through adversity.
In the midst of this, I found solace and strength in the support of a mentor who played a crucial role in guiding me toward a positive path. Their encouragement and belief in my potential became a driving force in my journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
Amidst the grief and external challenges, I had to learn the art of silencing negative thoughts and words that echoed in my mind. It was a process of telling myself that I am not defined by what people say about me; I am defined by what I believe I am. This internal shift marked a turning point in my resilience journey.
Despite the hardships, I channeled that pain into purpose. The experience fueled my commitment to empowering others, particularly women and young girls facing their own challenges. It led to the inception of the I AM movement, an initiative aimed at spreading positive affirmations and fostering resilience.
This story underscores the transformative power of resilience, the importance of a supportive mentor, and the necessity of learning to cultivate a positive mindset. It became a catalyst for not only overcoming personal obstacles but also for dedicating my efforts to uplift others facing similar struggles. This journey has shaped my mission, and my commitment to resilience continues to be a driving force behind the initiatives I undertake.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One significant lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that my worth and identity were solely defined by external validation. Growing up, I often sought approval and acceptance from others, relying on their opinions to shape my self-perception.
The backstory lies in the external challenges and criticisms I faced during my younger years. Negative words and judgments from others led me to internalize a sense of inadequacy and doubt. It took me a considerable amount of time to realize that this external validation was an unreliable measure of my worth.
The unlearning process involved recognizing that my true value comes from within, rooted in self-love and acceptance. I had to shift my focus from seeking validation externally to cultivating a deep sense of self-assurance and confidence. This transformation became a pivotal part of my journey toward empowerment and played a crucial role in founding the I AM movement.
The lesson to unlearn was liberating. It allowed me to break free from the constraints of external expectations and embrace the authenticity of my own narrative. This shift not only strengthened my resilience but also became a foundational aspect of the empowerment mission I now share with others through my initiatives.
