Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
When I first started my clothing brand it was just a name that I had came up with. It meant so much to me but I didn’t know the impact it’ll have on others around me. “ DEFINEPERFECTDP “ at the time I was just going to the fashion District picking out different stuff that I personally like. . Honestly I didn’t have the connections I have now . A friend of mine introduced me to a embroidery factory ran by a guy name Oscar and I will go to him if not every weekend but every two weeks to pick up loads of clothes. Onething I love loved about Oscar was the fact that he worked with me even though I didn’t have large quantity at times. From meeting Oscar he introduced me to another guy who did tags . From there I use my tags and I kept searching and searching and until I started expand. I wanted more so I decided to go back walking around in fashion District . This time I was looking looking for different fabric. I didn’t know any one who did cut & sew from scratch. but I had met this family owned business who would sew my tags. I learned in life clothes mouth don’t get fed . One day I asked him to sew fabric on different shorts & hoodies I had. In a different creative way. I would used them as samples . Some things I’ll make for myself just to wear . People loved it ‘ so he started to make more weekly . I’m going to Oscar ‘ the fabric stores & the family owned . Moving forward I end up meeting someone who did the cut is sold from scratch and since then I have built three different relationships who have helped my brain prosper this far by consistently going to them and being creative being open minded. Of course nothing comes overnight but I am so grateful meeting these individuals this far I believe the right with the way that you can find the right people as you have to just keep consistently going out in the field and being adventurous. You know not being afraid to speak up and askhelp You know help is it always about on a financial status but it can also be about a word of mouth. There’s lots of people who might turn you down to the processing in the journey but there’s also a handful of people who will be rooting for you who will be willing to help you
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the most important lessons I learned in running a small business . Keep your eyes on the prize & forever chase the dreams. Stay persistent ‘staying hungry ‘ Do you know why?
When you feel like things aren’t working out it’s actually a blessing in disguise. Eveyday you may not feel your best but never give up.
I’ve started this brand by myself and I’m going on year three . Of course I have troubles day by day but I’m so grateful for God allowing me to go through different footsteps to get to where I’m at today .
I just started off with
An idea that has landed me in the front end store in New York . Certain offers on run ways ‘ though I couldn’t take it at the time. It was still landed in my hands ‘ to know I am OMNIPOTENT.
Also different pop-ups that has lead me with different people . Who’s willing to working with upcoming
Entrepreneurs like myself . Nothing comes overnight because I’m still growing and learning but I have Managed day by day more of what being persistent really means
