We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tiffani Terrell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tiffani below.
Tiffani, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
Before I started my career as an aesthetic nurse injector I worked as a cardiac nurse for nine years. I had always had a passion for aesthetics and had considered switching to aesthetics for many years before I dove into this new type of nursing. It took me so long to make the jump because I loved my job and the overwhelming feeling of healing those in need. I could not have imagined that I would receive that feeling tenfold in my new career. I remember the first patient that cried when I handed her the mirror after her procedure. I knew in that moment that I had found my true passion and purpose in revitalizing the confidence and youthfulness of my patients. This patient had two previous surgeries attempting to correct her nose that left her feeling more self conscious than before the surgeries. The trauma from the surgeries, money, and time spend recovering had left this patient overwhelmed but after a quick non-surgical rhinoplasty with me she felt more like herself.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My focus is to minimize the signs of aging while reversing the aging time clock. We use many different types of treatment modalities to create collagen, decrease wrinkling, restore loss volume, and increase skin quality. Each appointment will start off as a consultation where we discuss your history, aesthetic goals, needs, and create a unique care plan to accomplish these goals. There is a lot of incorrect information floating around the internet. I believe the most important part of our consultation is education. I want you to fully understand the ends and outs of every cosmetic procedure before you make any decisions.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Training and knowledge is one of the most crucial parts to being successful in this industry but you must also have an eye for anatomy and beauty. My role heavily relies on my artist ability to visualize anatomy, product/treatment selection, and techniques needed to create balance and harmony to the face while remaining completely natural. The best injectable should never be detectable. I want people to look at you afterwards, and not to know that you had a procedure done. I only want others to notice an improvement in your overall appearance!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lessons that I must learn and unlearn on a daily basis is anatomy. It is beyond important to have an extensive knowledge base of anatomy but at the same time I must unlearn that lesson with each patient. We are all unique individuals with structural differences between bone, artery, and tissue placement. This is why no two patients are treated the same!
